Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan are doing commentary, still taped in Flint, Michigan.
Opening Contest: The Bushwhackers (22-0) defeat Tom Stone & the Black Demon when Butch pins Stone after a double stomachbreaker at 2:17:
As the match proceeds, Mr. Fuji and the Orient Express do an insert promo about how they are ready to face the Bushwhackers. Sato also says a lot of stuff in Japanese that is not translated. The Bushwhackers mow through the jobbers, still getting pops for their entrances and victories at these televised events.
Lord Alfred Hayes’ Special Report replays Jake Roberts visit to the ophthalmologist.
Akeem’s squash from Prime Time Wrestling is shown.
Battle Kat pins Bob Bradley after a victory roll at 2:52:
Battle Kat was a new gimmick given to Brady Boone. The character wears a purple cape to the ring and a black mask with ears on top of it. A subtle kiss of death was that no vignettes aired for the character and Monsoon and Heenan do little to talk up the newcomer during the bout. This was also not supposed to be the character’s debut as a match was filmed for the October 6 episode of Superstars but never aired. Bradley gets to show off his terrible springboard elbow into the corner and works over Kat until a victory roll out of nowhere wins it for the newcomer.
Rhythm & Blues (w/Jimmy Hart) (24-1-1) defeat Reno Riggins & S.D. Jones when the Honky Tonk Man pins Riggins after a double back suplex at 1:57:
WWF fans were very familiar with Jones, who worked in a lower tier role for the company during the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. Trained by Johnny Rodz, Jones started wrestling in 1971 for NWA Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, feuding against Ole and Gene Anderson with his kayfabe cousin Rufus R. Jones. Jones was most famous in the WWF for losing in a then-record nine seconds to King Kong Bundy at the first WrestleMania.
The Blues are immediately reheated after losing by disqualification to Hulk Hogan & Tugboat on Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, there is no customary insert promo by the Hart Foundation to talk about their feud with the Blues over the tag team titles. The Blues go through some customary double teams on Riggins before finishing him off.

Gene Okerlund interviews the Big Bossman. The Bossman discusses how much he loves his mother and he will make Rick Rude serve hard time for insulting her.
Earthquake’s squash from Prime Time Wrestling is shown.
Okerlund provides the Survivor Series Report.
The Legion of Doom’s squash from Prime Time Wrestling airs.
Tune in next week to see Rick Rude, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and the Hart Foundation in action!
The Last Word: Much of this show was a rehash of footage from Prime Time Wrestling. Battle Kat’s debut was underwhelming and backstage reports would reveal that the WWF was not happy with how Brady Boone was doing the gimmick. As a result, there would be a change and Bob Bradley would be put under the hood instead, but that would not make any waves either.
Here are some of the WWF’s house show cards for the week, with results provided from thehistoryofwwe.com:

Backstage News*: Two talents quit the WWF over the past week. Rick Rude left in the middle of the week, unhappy about being advertised for shows prior to SummerSlam when he was injured and not receiving payoffs from those shows. According to Rude, he should have been compensated even if he could not wrestle because his name was used in promotional materials against the Ultimate Warrior. Rude still has a year left on his contract so he cannot immediately go to WCW. Some say he would like to go to Herb Abrams’ Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) but that would not be allowed either. Akeem also quit, arguing that his payoffs on house shows were not keeping up with expenses. This will scuttle Akeem’s tasteless feud with Saba Simba over who is a true African.
*Due to the WWF cutting its house show loop from three shows to two other talents are expected to be released. These include Jim Neidhart, Greg Valentine, the Honky Tonk Man, Jim Powers, Boris Zhukov, Nikolai Volkoff, Black Bart, Pez Whatley, Jim Brunzell, Paul Diamond, and Ronnie Garvin. Neidhart and the Honky Tonk Man are expected to be moved into commentating jobs, but their in-ring releases will create problems in the tag team division because Neidhart is one-half of the Hart Foundation, who hold the titles, and they are feuding with Honky Tonk Man and Valentine. The rumor is that the Foundation will drop the titles soon to Demolition, who will then transition them to the Legion of Doom.
*Road agents have not been spared cuts either as Blackjack Lanza is being reassigned and George Steele will rotate duties with someone else.
*All of the expected talent cuts have not been good for locker room morale, something that is sinking lower because of Vince McMahon plowing ahead with plans for a bodybuilding federation. McMahon’s project will have a lot of start-up costs and is not expected to generate a profit for five years.
*NBC did not have a problem with Dustin Rhodes getting some color on the recent Saturday Night’s Main Event because they were told that it was accidental.
*Demolition will be put under masks because Vince McMahon thinks a reason that the Legion of Doom are not getting over as much as they could is because there is another team with face paint.
*There are rumors that Bobby Heenan is flirting with going to WCW, opening negotiations with Jim Herd.
*Another rumor is that Mark Calaway will burst out of the egg at Survivor Series and will be given the name “Egg Man.”
*In talent relations news, the WWF recently gave Scotty the Body a tryout at their television taping in Springfield, Illinois.
