Non-Title Match: Mr. Perfect (Intercontinental Champion w/Bobby Heenan) (15-2) pins Sonny Blaze with the Perfectplex at 2:09:

The camera tries to avoid showing the front of Perfect’s title belt since he is still wearing a tag team title to the ring. Heenan hypes Perfect in the split screen as Perfect lays in some stiff chops. After yelling at Blaze, Perfect hits the Perfectplex to win his first match as Intercontinental champion.

Rhythm & Blues (w/Jimmy Hart) (12-0-1) defeat Omar Atlas & Jim Brunzell when Greg Valentine pins Atlas after a double side suplex at 2:28:

Before the match, the Bushwhackers cut an unintelligible promo about fighting the Blues in their element. Even McMahon admits not much sense can be made of it. Brunzell gets Greg Valentine into a tizzy by messing with his hair and delivering an atomic drop, but Atlas cannot keep the positive momentum going and is quickly finished by the heels, who remain unbeaten on television.

Koko B. Ware yells about how great the WWF ice cream bars are.

Hulk Hogan comes out on the Brother Love Show to confront Earthquake. However, only Jimmy Hart appears, saying that Earthquake is not present because he has a 105-degree fever. That distraction lets Earthquake run out and hit Hogan in the back with a chair. He then proceeds to give the former WWF champion three Earthquake Splashes before WWF officials run out and Pat Patterson screams for paramedics. Like others who have fallen victim to the Earthquake Splash, Hogan does a stretcher job, with Vince McMahon taking off his suit jacket to assist.

McMahon delivers next week’s lineup of matches in a somber voice. Nikolai Volkoff faces Boris Zhukov! Also, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Dino Bravo, Brutus Beefcake, the Bushwhackers, and Dusty Rhodes are in action! And Rick Rude is a guest on the Brother Love Show!

The Last Word: The big draw of the show was Hulk Hogan’s confrontation with Earthquake and it delivered in spades. It makes Earthquake look like a worldbeater, gives Hogan a convenient excuse to take some time off to film his next Hollywood project (in this case Suburban Commando), and lays the foundation for a hot program for SummerSlam in three months. All of that immediately makes Hogan the top babyface of the company again even though he is not in possession of the WWF Championship.
