Tony Schiavone and Gorilla Monsoon call today’s action from a new round of television tapings in San Francisco, California. According to thehistoryofwwe.com, the show drew a sold-out crowd of 14,500, with 500 fans attending for free.
Opening Contest: Brutus Beefcake (5-0-1) defeats Steve Vega via submission to a sleeper hold at 2:01:
In the split screen, Beefcake says that Perfect will not be able to “pull a Houdini” when he puts him in the sleeper at WrestleMania VI. Vega takes a nasty slam on his arm before Beefcake whips him into the ropes to set up his finishing move. After the match, Beefcake engages in his post-match ritual by cutting some of Vega’s mullet.
Lord Alfred Hayes’ Special Report recaps the Hulk Hogan-Ultimate Warrior promos from Superstars.
Dino Bravo (w/Jimmy Hart) (7-2-1) pins Ricki Ataki after a sidewalk slam at 1:17:
Hacksaw Jim Duggan does an insert promo where he promises to beat Bravo up at WrestleMania. Bravo looks good in this squash, throwing a good clothesline as Ataki rebounds out of the corner and finishing with his trademark sidewalk slam.
Sean Mooney kicks the show over to WrestleMania promos. The Hart Foundation promise that there will be no glasnost when they face the Bolsheviks at Skydome. The Barbarian and Bobby Heenan promise the destruction of Tito Santana in Toronto.
Mr. Perfect (w/the Genius) (7-0) pins Dale Wolfe after the Perfectplex at 1:31:
Perfect works over Wolfe’s knee as he reminds Brutus Beefcake in the split screen that no one beats him. After the promo finishes, Perfect hits the Perfectplex to maintain his perfect record.
Gene Okerlund interviews Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire. Rhodes promises that Randy Savage and Sensational Sherri will feel the wrath of the common people at WrestleMania. Sapphire adds that the team has more moves than “a bowl full of Jell-O.” They dance on the interview set and try to get Okerlund involved to end the segment.
Jake Roberts (5-0) beats Darryl Nickel after the DDT at 1:39:
Nickel is so amped up he knocks himself down when trying to do a shoulder block. Ted DiBiase and Virgil do an insert promo where they vow that Roberts will pay the highest price possible for stealing the Million Dollar Championship at WrestleMania. After a short-arm clothesline Nickel falls victim to the DDT.
Mooney introduces more WrestleMania promos. Rick Martel says that there is something wrong with Koko B. Ware because he tries to look like a bird. Martel promises that he will make Ware look like a fool instead. The Big Bossman promises that Akeem and Slick will serve hard time when he faces his former tag team partner.
Okerlund does the WrestleMania VI Report. Randy Savage and Sensational Sherri promise the complete destruction of Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire. Bad News Brown says that Roddy Piper can wear whatever he wants to the event, but he will lose their fight when all is said and done. Piper rebuts that Brown will find out that he does not die, he just multiplies. Demolition put over their match with the Colossal Connection as the biggest of their career and winning the WWF Tag Team Championship will be the only thing that can quell the fire they feel. Steve Allen reads a letter from the Honky Tonk Man asking whether Beethoven would have loved “Hunka Hunka Honky Love” and responds that since Beethoven was deaf he would have loved it.

Mooney cues a final set of WrestleMania promos. Shawn Michaels, sporting a black eye that he tries to hide from camera, does the Rockers promo against the Orient Express and promises that the Rockers will not be a steppingstone for the Orient Express. WWF Tag Team Champions the Colossal Connection and Bobby Heenan vow that Demolition will have to be stretchered out of Skydome.

The Last Word: Aside from WrestleMania hype, this show did not have a lot to offer. At least the squash matches were quick and fun, though.
