Can Kerry and Kabuki beat the undefeated Dynamic Duo? What’s Parsons’ side of the story about Mike? And who will join me for this never-say-die episode?

Sloth! Thanks for joining us! Now that you’re here, the Goonies are good enough to start this reflection.

Opening montage.

From Ft. Worth, Gino cuts a promo on Kevin about that “stupid” car. Kevin approaches the ring and brawls with him.

Match 1 (non-title): NWA Texas champion the “Handsome Half-Breed” Gino Hernandez versus Kevin Von Erich

Highlights:

This match took place in Ft. Worth on 5/27.
When Kevin tossed him down to the concrete floor, he joined and rammed Gino face-first into the apron.
He tried to ram Gino into the steps but ate them himself.
As they choked one another, referee David Manning tried to separate them but got sent to the floor.
Gino nailed Kevin down near the south side of town, but Kevin reciprocated by crotching him on the top rope.
After Kevin applied an Iron claw to Gino, Adams stormed the ring to aid his tag team partner.
The Dynamic Duo double-clotheslined Kevin, and Adams tossed Rick Hazzard out of the ring.
While Kerry sprinted to the ring to aid his brother, Manning was BUSTED OPEN!
Kerry landed a discus punch that soared Adams over the top rope.
Chaos ensued, and the match was thrown out at 2:32.

Rating: *½

Summary: Merely a brawl to continue the Von Erich/Dynamic Duo feud. The blade job by Manning was either awesome or unnecessarily gruesome depending on your mileage.

After the match, Kevin tosses Adams to the concrete floor, yet Adams throws a chair into the ring. Kevin grabs it but misses Adams with a chair shot. Gino grabs an extension cord while Adams holds the Texas belt. As Kevin and Gino fight, Adams whips Kerry with the belt. To punctuate the segment, Adams tells us that he “(hates) the Von Erichs.” Good to know. I’d hate to think how you’d treat them if you actually liked them. Nevertheless, the Dynamic Duo re-enter the ring, and Gino challenges them to a match with ANY stipulation. Be careful what you ask for, gentlemen. Spectacular segment that adds ½* to the match.

Care to add something, Mouth?

Sorry, Mouth, I got nothing to add for that one.

Parsons cuts a promo on “Killer” Tim Brooks, One Man Gang, and Gary Hart. According to him, Mike Von Erich nailed Brooks so hard in “Detroit” that he separated his own shoulder. He takes responsibility and wants to avenge Mike’s injury no matter how it happened.

Match 2: “Iceman” King Parsons versus Jack Victory

Highlights:

As Victory missed a haymaker, he flew over the top rope to the floor.
Parsons returned Victory to the ring the hard way and dropkicked hm.
When he supplied Victory with a Thesz press, Parsons got 1.
He then leapfrogged Victory and followed with another dropkick.
After he survived a brief flurry by Victory, Parsons unleashed a butt butt.
1-2-3.
Parsons won in 7:07.

Summary: Showcase match for Parsons.

Match 3: The Dynamic Duo versus the “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich & Kabuki (w/ Sunshine)

Highlights:

Kerry launched a cross body block to Adams and got 1.
When Kerry slammed him, he CLOCKED Adams sending him over the top rope to the floor.
Adams blocked a right and unloaded a superkick to Kerry.
As the Dallas faithful chanted “go, Kerry, go,” Adams leaped from the apron but ate a shot to the midsection.
Gino tagged in and provided Kerry with a back elbow.
After Gino clotheslined Kerry, Mercer mentioned that Karl Malone from Louisiana Tech was in attendance. Nifty!
Kabuki tagged in, but Gino put a knee into his midsection.
While Adams tagged in, he clotheslined Kabuki for 2.
Kabuki rebounded with a thrust kick to Adams followed by one to an incoming Gino.
When Kabuki missed a knee drop, Adams scored with a second superkick.
Adams catapulted Kabuki into a right by Gino.
As Gino tagged in, he booted Kabuki in the midsection.
Gino then applied a sleeper, but Kabuki escaped.
After Adams tagged in, he attempted a vertical suplex, but Kabuki blocked it and supplied him with one of his own.
Hot tag Kerry.
Adams reversed a cross corner whip, but Kerry leaped to the second turnbuckle.
While Kerry applied an Iron claw, Gino quickly broke it up.
Gino tagged in and hooked a sleeper on Kerry.
When Kerry made the ropes, he secured an abdominal stretch upon Gino.
Adams made the save, and tags were exchanged on both sides.
As Kabuki landed a spin kick to Adams, Gino tagged in but ate a thrust kick.
Kabuki then applied an abdominal claw, but Adams abruptly halted his momentum.
With all four wrestlers in the ring, Kerry hooked a sunset flip on Gino.
1-2-3.
Kerry and Kabuki won at 11:07.

Rating: **½

Summary: HOT main event with a solid heat segment, explosive offense from both Adams and Kabuki, and a smart finish. Also, the Dynamic Duo is no longer undefeated.

After the match, Kerry grabs the microphone, touts his victory, predicts victory on 7/4, and threatens to destroy Gino’s Corvette. Gino charges but gets backdropped. While Adams superkicks Kerry, he also superkicks Kabuki with Gino’s help. The teams have a standoff to end the show.

Conclusion: NUCLEAR episode aimed to sell tickets to the upcoming July 4 spectacular. Gino and Adams played their parts to the highest level, and Kerry, Kevin, and Kabuki soaked up the cheers. Parsons returns to WCCW after a stint in Mid-South and partners with Mike to improve the young Von Erich’s mat acumen. What do you think, Data?
