–Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan are doing commentary and they are taped from Orlando, Florida.
–Opening Contest: Arn Anderson & Brian Pillman (7-1-1) defeat Todd Morton & Scott Sandlin when Pillman pins Sandlin after the Atomic Blonde at 4:07:
With the tag team division dormant, it would not be a bad idea to toss Anderson and Pillman into the mix and have them feud with Harlem Heat. Sandlin takes a long beating from Anderson and Pillman until a spinebuster-Atomic Blonde combo finish.
–Schiavone interviews Dick Slater and Colonel Robert Parker. They hype World War 3, with Slater vowing to go after the big guns like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Johnny B. Badd.
–Diamond Dallas Page (w/the Diamond Doll) (23-3-2) pins Skip Young after a Diamond Cutter at 1:47:
Page suddenly cares about the Doll’s welfare, kissing her hand and helping her into the ring. Young wrestled under a mask as Sweet Brown Sugar in Florida Championship Wrestling in the 1970s and 1980s, winning the promotion’s Southern Heavyweight title three times. He was also a tag team partner of Butch Reed. Sadly, he passed away in 2010 at the age of fifty-nine. The Doll only gives Page a nine when he delivers a backbreaker, allowing Young to score a fluke schoolboy roll up. Page quickly recovers with an elbow to the face and hits a Diamond Cutter for the win.
–Sergeant Craig Pittman (39-9) defeats Scott D’Amore after a right hand at 1:27:
Heenan urges someone to cheat to win at World War 3, using one of his old tactics of hiding under the ring and eliminating the last guy. This squash departs from Pittman’s usual formula as he hits D’Amore with a right hand and scores a pin. D’Amore was probably supposed to kick out and forgot.
–Hulk Hogan delivers a taped promo, wearing a black shirt and sunglasses. He rants about how much he hates the Giant and Jimmy Hart before saying that the dark side might overcome him to win the WCW title back at World War 3.
–Heenan says that no investigation is warranted into his sale of the second half of WCW Pro to Sonny Onoo.
–Kurasawa (w/Colonel Robert Parker) (11-2) beats Bill Weaver via submission to the Fujiwara armbar at 4:08:
Kicking is most of Kurasawa’s offense here, putting the television audience to sleep. He picks Weaver up after a release German suplex to inflict more punishment before finally clamping on the Fujiwara armbar.
–Schiavone interviews Television Champion Johnny B. Badd, who says he is going to teach Diamond Dallas Page a lesson that the Diamond Doll is not a piece of property but a lady. He says that people do not give him a fair chance in WCW but he has as good a chance of winning the World War 3 battle royal as anyone else.
–Meng (w/Kevin Sullivan) (32-4-1) beats Frankie Lancaster via submission to a modified Boston Crab at 3:18:
Kurasawa is still doing his post-match meditation when Meng makes his entrance, triggering a pull apart brawl between them. Lancaster holds Meng back, with Heenan making an astute observation that it makes no sense to hold your opponent back when they want to fight someone else as they might get beat up and give you an easy win. Officials clear Kurasawa out of the ring so the squash can happen, with Parker coming by mid-match to promise Sullivan that Kurasawa will not cause the Dungeon of Doom anymore problems. Meng pulverizes Lancaster for three minutes before cupping both of his legs under one arm and using a modified Boston Crab for the submission. After the bell, Meng beats up the referee.
–Tune in next week to see the American Males, Kurasawa, and New Japan Pro Wrestling talent in action!
The Last Word: This was a boring Worldwide broadcast as the squashes went too long and the show lacked a feature match. It looks like next week might be more of the same. However, Meng-Kurasawa could be a fun match down the road.
