Chris Jericho is living a Spinal Tap parody gimmick, right, RIGHT?
Also I'm not saying the belt deal was a work but Jericho played it perfectly.
I don't think it was a work, but Jericho made a convincing case for why it might be one, and that's about the best you can do with the situation.
