Plans for Rollins original title run?

What were the plans for Seth Rollins as WWE Champion before he got injured in late 2015 and had to relinquish the title? I've always assumed that he would've held the belt until WrestleMania 32, where he would've then dropped it to Roman Reigns.
That does seem to be a likely scenario, yes.
