Was Stone Colds success just luck?

By Scott Keith on 2 September 2019

Hey Scott,
While there is no denying Stone Cold Steve Austin’s success and popularity, it is hard to hide that it seemed more out of luck from someone else being unlucky or greedy. He won King of the Ring due to HHH’s mistake at Madison Square Garden and his Wrestlemania
classic with Bret Hart was due to Shawn Michaels being well…Shawn Michaels. If WWF had gone with their original plans without error, do you think he would have been as successful, especially considering his already long injury list or would it have been
too late for him if success came later down the line?

Austin was already building momentum before Wrestlemania, but the Bret stuff just cemented it. Much like everyone in Van Halen getting fired and replaced with members of Eddie's family, it was gonna happen whether anyone wanted it or not.
