Reigns vs. Bryan feud

Rumors are that SD’s falling equipment angle is leading to a Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan feud. Now I’m shocked the fans haven’t completely turned on Roman yet since his grand “I beat Cancer comeback” but… isn’t this almost a guaranteed way to turn the fans on him. Bryan, despite being a great heel who actually has a defined heel character, will certainly be cheered in “Bizarro World” Canada if they rush the match for SummerSlam. And if Roman wins clean in 15 min with a spear, it does NOTHING for anyone.
I feel WWE has done a decent job of not shoving Roman down our throats all while treating him like the real top star since WM. How would you do this Bryan/Roman feud? Is there a way it doesn’t blow up in Vince’s face again
The match should at least be good and I suppose it finally gives Bryan some direction after a few months of aimlessly floating in the midcard, but it certainly doesn't feel like anything other than a last minute way to get both guys on the show.
