I was watching some old SMW and one of The Gangstas’ gimmicks got me thinking. They were able to win matches with a 2-count due to affirmative action – do you think that would work nowadays with someone like Cedric Alexander to give him an edge?
That wasn't a real thing, that was a parody published in the Torch that got telephone-gamed into an actual part of Cornette's booking in people's minds. The Gangstas never won matches via affirmative action.
And no, it would not work today, because a sponsor on either side of the political argument would complain and Vince would instantly pull it.
