Shelton Benjamin segments on Smackdown

What do you make of the strange Shelton Benjamin segments that have been airing on Smackdown the past 2 weeks, and more importantly, do you think they are actually leading to a sustained push?
I am definitely not watching Smackdown, but without even seeing the segments I can guarantee you that, no, 40-something Shelton Benjamin is not getting a sustained push.
