Ted Dibiase in WCW

When Ted Dibiase left the WWF after In Your House Beware of Dog 2, it was said he already had an offer from WCW on the table. When he made this deal, was it already in place that he would be the leader of the not yet
formed NWO? Since it was May, and Hogan's heel turn hadn't been decided yet, did they have other plans in mind for him, or did he just sign his WCW deal knowing nothing about what he was going to do to them?


Also was it always set up for Bischoff to come in and Dibiase to get pushed to the side, or did that just happen spontaneously? Could they have done more to make Bischoff and Dibiase equals in the NWO?

Dibiase really wanted away from playing a heel at that juncture. You know, for Jesus. The idea was always that he’d be the mystery benefactor behind the scenes but stuff changed all the time because WCW.
