Was the Montreal Screwjob predicated on the belief that Bret Hart would definitely assault Vince McMahon? Because if he just walks out of the arena and takes the case to court, he probably wins a huge settlement and takes the WWE down with him. No matter how much of a hothead Bret was known to be, that sounds like a huge risk to take.
Everything about it was a huge risk, but yeah, it's crazy to think how many pieces had to fall into place.
