WM X Referees

Were Mr. Perfect & Roddy Piper always the choices for the special referee’s for WM X? Was anyone else considered? When they were chosen, was the plan always for Perfect to screw Lex and then feud with him? Also was Piper always scheduled to come back for KOTR to face Lawler or was that decided after the fact of WM X?

​Yeah, Perfect and Piper were always the choices, although the Perfect-Lex thing came about later in the process, once Perfect had decided he was actually coming back to wrestle again. And then changed his mind afterwards, but you know what I mean.

Piper’s return at KOTR was just at Piper’s whim as I recall. I don’t think there was any long-term planning behind it, because it’s Piper and you can’t think that way with him. ​
