I was just watching a shoot interview with Jim Cornette when he is discussing the relationship between VKM and Randy Savage. Cornette said that Vince never forgave Savage (for whatever reason) and wouldn’t even mention Savage until after his death.

But, didn’t they (Vince and Savage) have contract negotiations in 1997 when Randy was briefly contemplating a WWF return?

My point is this: everyone says that Vince had it out for Savage ever since Macho left the WWF in 1994. So how did VKM negotiate with the guy in ’97 to return, and when Savage didn’t come back to the WWF, instantly went back to holding a grudge against him?

And how did these stories of Savage banging Steph hold up even after VKM and Macho negotiated a return? Wouldn’t the two sides speaking to one another in ’97 and proving that they were willing to do business totally dispel that rumor?

​No, because Vince never said that until after those negotiations broke down. All those rumors didn’t even come out until years later, it wasn’t like a well-known thing at the time. ​
