Coliseum video questions

By Scott Keith on 28 February 2017

What was with all the oddball additional content with old WWF PPV release’s? Like Mene Gene in a sky box for Survivor Series 88 doing intros or Gorilla and Jesse doing a 5 minute post game wrap up on Royal Rumble 89 when the ppv just signed off at the end of the Rumble? Who made these decisions? Why did talent and personal go along with this? Why were these necessary? Couldn’t they just sell the home release of the ppv as is?

I assume it’s because Coliseum wanted "exclusive content" to sell as a part of the tapes so they could distinguish their releases from the PPV itself. WWE didn’t take over their own videotape distribution until the 90s.
