Bad Build, Great PPV

By Scott Keith on 25 February 2016

What shows had the absolute worst build you could imagine, but ended up being surprisingly good?

Most of the WCW ones during the nWo glory years, probably. They’d do these non-sensical Hogan talkfests to build them up and put on an awesome undercard that had nothing to do with the main angles. Also the WWE show with Rock v. Undertaker v. Angle in 2002 had nothing interesting for buildup and then ended up being a blowaway show by comparison. I also don’t remember being particularly enamored with Summerslam 2002’s build, as I wasn’t buying into the Brock hype quite yet, but the show is aces.

I’m sure others can come up with way more examples.
