McMahon tells fans that Randy Savage is supposed to join the broadcast but may not because WWF President Jack Tunney has placed him on probation.

We continue one with our rebooking journey through the first three months of 1999 in the WWF. Last week we covered Royal Rumble 1999 (which can be found in the archives) and this week we’ll be looking at the WWF’s February offering in the form of St. Valentine’s Day Massacre from Memphis.
This was by far the best of the three pay per views the WWF put on during Mania Season of 99, so we won’t be making wholesale changes to lots of it, but there will be some tweaks and certain matches will be cut entirely.

I hate these Bobby Heenan Show episodes SO MUCH but people keep telling me to push through because it gets better once Bobby gets back to the studio again. FINE.
Sean Mooney and Bobby Heenan are the hosts for tonight’s program. Mooney is carrying a Big Bossman wrestling buddy because the Bossman will be a guest on the show.
Irwin R. Schyster does a taped promo about how the Big Bossman does not pay taxes on the bribes he collects.

Back with another Stinker Review this week, where I watch a show that has a reputation for being awful and decide if that reputation is deserved or not. This week we’ve got WWF In Your House 19: D-Generation X, which was the WWF’s first pay per view event following the infamous Survivor Series show of 1997.
Shawn Michaels was both WWF and European Champ, and with back up from Triple H and Chyna he had an iron grip on the WWF Main Event scene now that Bret Hart had jumped to WCW. As a result they decided to name the December pay per view after the group, keeping the trend started in 1996 where they named the December event after a top Heel (Vader in 96, Shawn in 97 and Rock in 98).
I remember this show being quite the slog even in my younger days, but let’s see if time has been kind to it. In typical fashion, I’ve written this back in October (hello from the past) and Scott Keith has recently said he’s planning to re-watch this one so there’ll probably be a superior review already posted before this even goes up. That’s just my life sometimes.

The gimmick here is that this is a collection of “fan requested” matches from 1989, with both “fans” and “requested” in quotations, as Coliseum moves away from the “Best of the WWF” series and shifts to themed collections instead to disguise the lazy dark match “exclusives”.

Okey doke, so they dropped 10 episodes of this show on the Network today, FINALLY beginning the addition of the show that became the classic WWF Superstars in 1986. They had already added some All Star Wrestling from around the same time, but that was clearly the B show (which became Wrestling Challenge in 86) and this is where all the main stuff happened. Not holding out hope that it’s going to be significantly better than All Star Wrestling but at least they’re adding the stuff that might lead to the Hulkamania golden age now.
Bobby Heenan, carrying the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Belt, reminds the production team that everything needs to run perfect for Ric Flair debut on tonight’s program.
Sean Mooney and Heenan are the hosts. Mooney suggests that they pass around Ric Flair’s belt to the audience, but Heenan dismisses that.
