Happy Saturday Everyone!

We’ve got a TNA review for you this week, as we take a look at Bound For Glory 2009, an event that you can view for free on IMPACT Wrestling’s YouTube page, which is very nice of them. Search it out and give em some clicks if you like the sound of this. The main reason I’m reviewing this one is that Matt Morgan apparently has a 4 star match on it, and that’s something I just HAVE to see to believe.

The lads over at OSW Review are actually going to review this, although I’m writing this before their review has been posted. If it is up by now, then seek them out, as they do some cracking long-form reviews of wrestling shows and they’re always good fun. Plus, I’ve totally nicked some of their verbiage in my reviews, so I feel it’s only fair to direct you to them so you can enjoy things like “Aloha-enter-wrestler-name-here” from the pros.

Bound For Glory 2009 took place either during or just after the whole Main Event Mafia Era of TNA, where established stars such as Kurt Angle, Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner all aligned with one another in order to take on the younger less established stars of TNA, with the idea being that the TNA guys would defy their more decadent superiors and eventually knock them down a peg. I honestly can’t remember if that happened or not as I tapped out on TNA somewhere around 2008 and never really got back into it after that.

Thus, most of this will be new to me!

Bound For Glory 2023
Date: October 21, 2023
Location: Cicero Stadium, Cicero, Illinois

It’s the biggest show of Impact’s year and things are getting interesting around here. The main event here will see Josh Alexander challenging Alex Shelley for the World Title that he never lost. Other than that, we have Trinity defending the Knockouts Title against Mickie James, who never lost her title either. Let’s get to it.

We’re going to review Bound For Glory 2005 today, as IMPACT has been nice enough to put the full show on their YouTube channel and I don’t believe I’ve ever watched the show in full. Bound For Glory was kind of supposed to be TNA’s WrestleMania equivalent, with this being the first pay per view since they started airing on SPIKE TV.

There was some commotion in the build-up to Bound For Glory 2005, as Kevin Nash was supposed to take on Jeff Jarrett for the NWA Title, but then he was ill/injured and couldn’t take part, so they had to scramble with a way to fix it on the night. We’ll get to how they dealt with that as the show goes on.

Slammiversary 2023
Date: July 15, 2023
Location: St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Impact is back to pay per view and the show is looking rather good on paper. The main event will feature Alex Shelley defending the World Title against Nick Aldis in what could be a heck of a match. Other than that, we may be in for a major surprise return as Scott D’Amore needs a tag partner and put in a phone call last week to close Impact. Let’s get to it.

Rebellion 2023

It’s back to regular pay per view around here and that should make for a good show. The injury bug has struck Impact hard though as a new World and Knockouts Champion have to be crowned tonight. Other than that we have a Hardcore War, because we just needed more Tommy Dreamer vs. Bully Ray. Let’s get to it.

Hard To Kill 2023

It’s back to pay per view and Impact is actually on a heck of a roll right now. They are getting almost everything right at the moment and I’m wanting to see the show a lot more than I would have expected. We have a double main event as Bully Ray is challenging Josh Alexander in a Full Metal Mayhem match, plus Mickie James’ Last Rodeo continues as she challenges Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Title. Let’s get to it.

It’s the biggest night of the Impact year and the show doesn’t look too bad. Honor No More is in a pair of title matches, including the show’s main event, so tonight might determine all of the group’s future. That could go in a few ways but there is enough other stuff to keep the interest up. Let’s get to it.

Emergence 2022

I usually don’t do these shows but the Alex Shelley/Josh Alexander segment from this week’s Impact actually got me to check it out. This is the latest non-pay per view pay per view special from Impact and the card looks good enough to be worth a watch. In addition to the World Title match, Honor No More faces Bullet Club and has to disband if they lose. Let’s get to it.

Slammiversary 2022

It’s the big twenty year celebration of Impact wrestling and the company is doing its best to flash back and move forward at the same time. The main event is Josh Alexander defending the World Title, but we also have a Queen of the Mountain match and Ultimate X to keep up the tradition. Let’s get to it.

Rebellion 2022

It’s back to pay per view for Impact and this time they have made me want to see what they have to offer. The main event is a long awaited showdown between Moose and Josh Alexander for the World Title, after Moose took the title at Bound For Glory and then went after Alexander’s family. The rest of the card looks pretty good too so let’s get to it.

Sacrifice 2022

This is the month’s Impact Plus special and the card is looking decent. There are a ton of title matches, capped off by Heath of all people getting the World Title shot. If that isn’t your thing, there are three Women’s Title matches, plus a hoss fight between Jonah and PCO. Let’s get to it.

Hard To Kill 2022

The company is back on pay per view for one of only four times this year. The show has some big matches set, including Matt Cardona and W. Morrissey challenging Moose for the World Title in a three way, plus Knockouts Champion Mickie James defending against Deonna Purrazzo in a Texas Deathmatch. Let’s get to it.
