Impact Wrestling – June 9, 2020

11th June 2020 by Thomas Hall

Impact Wrestling
Date: June 9, 2020
Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee
Commentators: Madison Rayne, Josh Matthews

It’s a big night as we get to find out the future of the World Title. Last week Ace Austin won the #1 contenders tournament, which was rather odd as he beat someone who wasn’t even entered. Never let it be said that things go as you might expect around here, though that’s not necessarily a good thing. Let’s get to it.

The Theszies / RSPW results are live!

22nd February 2015 by Scott Keith
Hey there –

In the Theszies / RSPW (rec.sport.pro-wrestling) Awards, you – or
someone who gave us your email address – voted, and asked us to email
notifications of results and stuff.

If you’d like to see this year’s Awards (and you said you did
previously, so that’s why we’re emailing you), just follow this link:

http://mightygodking.com/2015/02/19/the-2014-theszies-rec-sport-pro-wrestling-awards-results-post/

We’re setting up a mailing list! We had an overly complicated and
manual email system, and from now on, it should be simpler and more
timely. We’re only automatically adding voters from *this* year; we’d
prefer to avoid spamming outdated email addresses. You can subscribe
over here:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/theszies-announce

We’re also on Twitter at @RSPW_Awards.

Thanks for voting, and we’ll see you (hopefully) in December when we
begin taking nominations for the 2015 Awards!

MGK, James The Tech Guy, and the rest of the RSPW Awards Staff

Hey, and RSPWFAQ.net finished pretty high in the voting for "Best Media", too!  Thanks to all who voted for the blog!

The results are in!

I don't know how the people spamming the polls managed to keep it as close as they did, but kudos.  Mountie advances by a hair, as does Shawn Michaels and Greg Valentine.  The only one that wasn't incredibly close was Perfect v. Godfather, in fact.
Next group of 8 coming soon tonight.

Round Two Results: First Half

4th January 2015 by Scott Keith

Nothing particularly surprising here.  Farewell to the Dudley Boyz, latest victims of the E&C juggernaut.  Second half of the bracket should get posted tomorrow night.

Round one: Final results

3rd January 2015 by Scott Keith
http://challonge.com/bodtag
So yes, somehow there is a bigger group of jobbers than Deuce & Domino, and it is BOOKER T & TEST, who only garnered a pathetic 22 votes against Funk & Cactus.  Also, sadly, John Cena's final shot at getting to the next round with a wacky tag team partner fell by the wayside when he and Miz were destroyed by the awesome duo of Kid & Jannetty.  Meanwhile, Steve Austin has two wacky tag partner duos in the second round.  Just saying.
First set of votes for the round of 64 later tonight!

Tag Tournament Results: There goes the Ax, there goes the Smasher…

3rd January 2015 by Scott Keith
http://challonge.com/bodtag
Well, SHIT.  Damn random drawing.  Farewell, Demolition.  Maybe Bill Eadie can sue and get damages at least.
No huge upsets this time around, although I was a bit surprised to see La Rez going over Big Show & Kane so strongly, as well as Michaels & Austin absolutely steamrolling Bossman & Shamrock.  Also, I wouldn't want to be Miz & Sandow next round.
Last 16 matchups of the first round coming later tonight!

Tag Tourney Results Round One: Groups Y-AF

2nd January 2015 by Scott Keith
http://challonge.com/bodtag
Farewell, Brainbusters.  It was agonizingly close, however.  Biggest rout of the tournament thus far was Los Guerreros over Suzuki & Dupree, unsurprisingly.  Also a mild surprise in that the Wild Samoans completely destroyed the Godwinns, who I thought would have at least got one pity round before bowing out.
We'll step it up to 16 matches per night to close out the first round, including what should be the most intense battle of the tournament later tonight.

Tag Tourney Results – Q-X

1st January 2015 by Scott Keith
http://challonge.com/bodtag
Only one I'd consider an upset, with the Jericho/Benoit team taking out Shawn & Diesel in the first round, and by a handy margin, too.  It was a rough day for Shawn Michaels all around, as D-X got slaughtered by the Hart Foundation as well.
Next round to be posted soon, assuming I'm not too drunk to make polls properly.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tag Tournament Blocks I-P RESULTS

31st December 2014 by Scott Keith
http://challonge.com/bodtag
Mostly as expected, although I thought the super-patriot team of Hogan and Edge would destroy Sheik and Volkoff, which is not what ended up happening.  Some mighty routs in this group, but also some surprisingly close ones, with the US Express getting upset in something of a surprise to me.
More first round matches later tonight!

2013 RSPW Awards results

21st February 2014 by Scott Keith
Hey, Scott: the 2013 RSPW Awards are (finally) finished! (It took us a while to root out a couple of schmucks who were vote-spamming and recalculate all totals.)

http://mightygodking.com/2014/02/21/the-2013-rec-sport-pro-wrestling-awards-final-results/

Sorry, I just wanted to ensure that Bob Backlund finally got his Best Bowtie Slammy after Owen Hart stole it 18 years ago.
