Lance Russell is back from vacation and he reunites with Dave Brown in the booth to call the action from the WMC-TV5 studio in Memphis, Tennessee.

Brown interviews Randy Hales, who announces that Bob Armstrong’s court injunction to prevent the USWA from acquiring total control of SMW is over.  From this point forward Armstrong is banned from WMC-TV5 studios.  Hales also announces a lumberjack strap match between Jeff Jarrett and Armstrong, a “loser leaves town” match between referees Gene Johnson and Frank Morrell, and a USWA tag team title match where Jesse James Armstrong and Tracy Smothers will defend against Doug Gilbert and a mystery partner.  No specific date is given for these matches since there will be no card at the Mid-South Coliseum on December 18.

Corey Maclin is going solo today for this episode, taped from the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee.  The temporary switch out of the WMC-TV5 studio is nice because this venue is bigger and has more energy.  You can also see cigarette smoke wafting from the crowd on numerous occasions too as this was a time before indoor smoking bans.  And in a weird aesthetic, the promotion uses a white picket fence for a guardrail.

Russell interviews Downtown Bruno, who complains about what Doug Gilbert and Miss Texas have done to Brandon Baxter over the last few weeks.  Bruno says that he will be taking Baxter’s place as an ally of Smoky Mountain Wrestling.  He also complains about the recent treatment of Bob Armstrong.  This brings Armstrong out and he shakes Bruno’s hand before running down the USWA.  Armstrong hypes his son Jesse James and Tracy Smothers as his biggest weapon.

Russell interviews Bob Armstrong, who lists four conditions to end the USWA-SMW feud.  These are that the fine on his son Jesse James Armstrong should be lifted, Brian Christopher should be suspended for attacking him on last week’s show, Maclin should apologize for anti-Armstrong comments he has made in the past (and Maclin’s facial expression when this condition is read is great), and promoter Randy Hales should announce that he is a coward and leave the USWA forever.  Armstrong’s deadpan delivery during this segment made this an excellent segment.

Chip Kessler and Les Thatcher call the action from the Jellico High School tapings.  Kessler has been trying to channel Vince McMahon to kick off each program by screaming “Neexxtt” but he just ends up sounding like he is grunting on the toilet.

Chip Kessler and Les Thatcher are in the booth and they are broadcasting from a new set of television tapings from Jellico High School in Jellico, Tennessee.  According to prowrestlinghistory.com, the tapings took place on July 6, but no attendance figures were reported.

(Based on comments, it seems like the Blog is favoring SMW in its feud with the USWA.  SMW’s TV is missing most of this inter-promotional feud because of its taping schedule, sadly)

Thatcher interviews Commissioner Bob Armstrong and Armstrong’s Avenger.  Armstrong says he has faith in the Avenger against SMW Champion Buddy Landel.  He promises a surprise.

Brown tells fans that Brian Christopher will be out of action for six weeks with a broken shoulder blade.  Russell follows up by saying that Randy Hales was hurt in the Rock N’ Roll Express-PG-13 USWA Tag Team Championship match in Memphis on Monday.

Chip Kessler and Les Thatcher kick off a new round of television tapings in Sevierville, Tennessee.  According to prowrestlinghistory.com, the tapings took place at Catan’s Chapel Elementary School and drew 300 fans.

After showing Jim Cornette’s turn on Bob Armstrong at Volunteer Slam IV, Chip Kessler interviews Cornette, SMW Champion Buddy Landel, and the Punisher outside of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Cornette wants to do the interview in his penthouse suite so after a commercial break the segment moves there.  After Landel gloats about the accommodations, Cornette gives a play-by-play of how he set Armstrong up and managed to also get revenge on the Gangstas at the same time, aided by video footage of the last six months.  During the re-telling, Cornette gets a phone call from Pamela Anderson for Landel, telling Landel that WWF Champion Diesel must be a lousy kisser.  After going through four commercial breaks, the segment ends with Cornette saying that Bob Armstrong cannot mess with him or his crew anymore because they promised last Thanksgiving was their final encounter.  Landel chips in and says with Cornette at his side that his SMW title is safe.
