According to PWInsider.com’s Dave Scherer, talks between AJ and TNA have fallen apart and they do not except him back in the company anytime soon.

Which Shoot Interview Should be Reviewed Next

27th December 2013 by Scott Keith

Just like last week, I will ask a question and the person who is the first to guess correctly, will get to choose the shoot interview that I will recap next week. I will send you a word document of the shoots that I have in my collection (the ones that have not been reviewed on the blog) and you email me back the one you want to see reviewed.

Here is the question:

What was the first “Timeline” shoot that I reviewed for the blog?

The Next Big Thing ?

21st December 2013 by Scott Keith
Now, we all know what CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar was like. Basically, they blew the roof off during that Summerslam match. But I feel, such ***** matches should be treated in a super-special way by not having another match. The second match will not only live up to the expectations, but also make Lesnar look weak when he has to return the job to Punk. Their once-in-a-lifetime masterpiece was just PERFECT in every facet of pro-wrestling and it was the smartest way they could’ve booked either guy. Now, my question to you is : After watching how brilliant Punk vs Lesnar was, can you imagine how terrifyingly awesome Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar can be ? Lesnar treating Bryan like a little bitch throughout, and almost KILLING him during the process before Bryan makes his legendary babyface comeback and beats the shit out of Lesnar all over the place and MURDERS him with the RUNNING KNEE OF DOOM or makes him tap out or something. Sure, that may sound chimerical, but at this point I’d do just ANYTHING to make Bryan the biggest star today. Do you see Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan happening anytime in the future ?
There would basically be no advantage to Brock even taking that match from a financial standpoint.  He’s  not gonna main event with it and otherwise you can’t justify his salary using him to put over some goat-faced B+ guy.   Now Randy Orton, there’s a stud worthy of the match.  Hasn’t years of watching this product taught you anything?

Which Shoot Interview Should be Reviewed Next?

20th December 2013 by Scott Keith

I have decided to switch things up for deciding next week’s shoot interview recap. Instead of a poll, I am going to ask a question and whoever is the first one to guess correctly in the thread, I will send you a list of every shoot interview I have that has not been reviewed on this site and you can pick the one that will be posted next Thursday.
Here is the question:

What was the first shoot interview that I reviewed for the blog?

Here is a hint: He wrestled in the WWF, for well over a decade, starting in the 1990’s, and he never held the World Championship. He never went to ECW and had wrestled as a Jobber in WCW for one match.

Cucch’s Book Review: Goldberg: I’m Next

21st August 2013 by Scott Keith

Well, you figure a book with writing credits lauded to Scott Keith and fellow baseball wonk Rob Neyer would lead to a great book.

No.
Bill Goldberg is a wrestling anomaly. He is someone who trained quickly and in short order became a superstar that defies description. Many have called him WCW’s Austin clone. Some have called him WCW’s Shamrock clone. The fact of the matter is that Goldberg is no one’s clone. Goldberg was GOLDBERG, and the quicker we accept that fact, the quicker we can accept and appreciate what a once in a lifetime talent Goldberg was.

Goldberg’s biography, much like his career arc, is totally different. This book was written in 2000, after the peak of his career. (12 years later, I think I can state that.). Goldberg was an absolute phenomenon, one of those human events that just sort of happen out of nowhere. WCW did a remarkable job in booking Billy Boy. He was a sensation. Spear, jackhammer, powermove, pin. That was the Goldberg equation.

His book, as sad as I am to say, is total rubbish. He starts with his horrible groin injury in the NFL, and then goes into his WCW career, as started by Sting. Now, I LOVE hearing about wrestlers starting from nothing and then making something of them. Big Billy does none of that. His book starts with him taking methadone to power through injury. He then goes through some, SOME, of his matches and then  mentions Make-A-Wish, which is an excellent foundation. But Goldy often glosses over periods of his career, and that is something this scribe does not care for. Basically, Goldberg treats his career as an also ran, a piece de resistance that makes him seem like some dude off the street who fancies notoriety as opposed to a well earned rep as a good wrestler who competes in good matches.

Now, I would like to mention that this book leads me to a well informed, well educated point, but the fact is it does not. Goldberg took advantage of his name and published this shittastic book. Read it at your own peril. I will say this: If you are a 1998 mark of the business, this is your book.. Otherwise, its rubbish.

The next Eddie?

20th August 2013 by Scott Keith

"Hey Scott,  with all the talk of Bryan being the next "Stone Cold", i think a more suitable comparison would be Eddie Guerrero circa 2004. Your thoughts??"

They had no intention of making Eddie a long term top guy like they do with Bryan.  A better comparison would be 98 Mick Foley, and in fact Vince came out on RAW and made that very comparison himself.
