205 Live

ECW On Sci Fi – December 19, 2006

22nd May 2021 by Thomas Hall

ECW on Sci Fi
Date: December 19, 2006
Location: Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, Virginia
Commentators: Joey Styles, Tazz

We’re almost done with the year and I’m not sure what that is going to mean for this week. Last week’s show felt like a total throw away episode, but I’m curious about how much of that was over the big shakeup behind the scenes. Hopefully they don’t wait until the new year to fix things up. Let’s get to it.

205 Live – April 9, 2021

10th April 2021 by Thomas Hall

No I won’t be doing this regularly but it’s Wrestlemania week so here’s a bonus.

205 Live
Date: April 9, 2021
Host: Nigel McGuinness

It’s Wrestlemania weekend and since this show means all of absolutely nothing in WWE, this is a best of show. That might be the best thing that can be done for the cruiserweights, as it isn’t like anyone is paying attention to this show this weekend. Hopefully we get some of the actual greatest hits as there are a lot to pick from. Let’s get to it.

205 Live #146 – 10/09/2019

11th September 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

So more 205 Live again, with a notable debut this week that I’m mucho looking forward to!

The event is emanating from Madison Square Garden

Calling the action are Vic Joseph and Aiden English. With NXT now going up on USA, Nigel McGuinness has sadly departed the announce desk. However, it’s apparently essential to have three commentators for whatever reason, so former NFL player Dio Maddin steps into the chair as the replacement.

205 Live #145 – 03/09/2019

4th September 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

The Copperbox show from 31/08/2019 is up on New Japan World now, so I’ll give it a look this week at some point, probably at the weekend. In the meantime, here’s some more of 205 Live, the show that WWE might do a big LOST like twist for one day and reveal that it was all really a nightmare of Vince McMahon’s following a particularly heavy lunch in the 80’s.

WWE 205 Live #139 and #140

31st July 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

A combination of other commitments and going on holiday meant I couldn’t watch last week’s 205 Live, so you get a two for one this week so I can catch up. Lucky you eh?

205 Live #138 – 16/07/2019

17th July 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

Back again with some more 205 Live. This week we actually get a rematch of the match that got me interested in watching the show again in the form of Jack Gallagher Vs Chad Gable. The last time these two took to the ring it was an absolute corker, so hopefully we get just as good a match this time out.

Also, last week Mike Kanellis promised doom for the show due to his personal life going to the dogs, so there’s a good chance we’ll see some chicanery from him this week as well.

So without further ado, let’s take to the skies for another week of 205 action!

205 Live #137 – 09/07/2019

Hello You!

Back again with some more 205 Live action, as this show will be the go home for Extreme Rulz, where Drew Gulak will defend his Cruiserweight Title against Tony Nese.

So without further ado, let’s get Live with the 205!

205 Live #136 – 02/07/2019

3rd July 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

So here we are with the second week of 205 Live recaps. Hopefully you’re all enjoying them.

Last week Tony Nese defeated Akira Tozawa to earn himself a match with new Cruiserweight Champ Drew Gulak, mostly likely on the Extreme Rulz pre-show because this company seems obsessed with treating the poor Cruiserweights like second class citizens.

Also The Lucha House Party challenged The Singh’s to a Tornado Match, so we should get to see that this week. And Mike Kanellis’ life continued to get crappy when he was defeated by Jack Gallagher.

So without further ado, let’s strap ourselves in and take flight with some Cruiserweight action!

205 Live #135 – 25/06/2019

28th June 2019 by Michael Fitzgerald

Hello You!

I decided to put the Hardcore TV reviews on ice, mainly because I don’t think anyone was actually reading them. Seeing as 205 Live is probably the only show that super-reviewer Tommy Hall doesn’t recap around here, I decided I’d try it out for a few weeks and see what everyone thinks.

Recaps going forward will probably be up on Wednesday evenings at the earliest because the show is on pretty late in the UK and I have things like sleeping and a regular day job that I have to contend with. Whenever I’ve watched 205 Live I’ve tended to enjoy the wrestling on it quite a lot, though the crowds can sometimes be pretty dispiriting, so I’m optimistic going in to this.

Anyway, let’s take a look at 205 Live for 25/06/2019

Worlds Collide

23rd February 2019 by Thomas Hall

Worlds Collide
Date: February 2, 2019
Location: Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix, Arizona
Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton

So this is something interesting as WWE is trying a new idea. This is a tournament made up of a bunch of wrestlers from different shows with the winners getting to face the champion of their choice on any of the three brands included (NXT, NXT UK, 205 Live). We could be in for some good wrestling here as the fifteen (yes fifteen) names included are rather talented. Let’s get to it.

WWE 205 Live – 14th August 2018

15th August 2018 by John Sivewright

WWE 205 Live

14th August 2018

Greenville, South Carolina

Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson

We’re only 4 days out from SummerSlam, grapple fans, as things are heating up in the WWE Universe!  While this weekend will see Cedric Alexander defend his Cruiserweight Championship against Drew Gulak on the pre-show in Brooklyn, there’s no shortage of action on this week’s 205 broadcast.  Akira Tozawa and Lio Rush will collide again following the latter’s win last month, whilst Cedric clashes with ‘Gentleman’ Jack Gallagher, with Gulak and The Brian Kendrick barred from ringside.  Let’s get to it!

WWE 205 Live

7th August 2018

Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson

Should be some hot action tonight, grapple fans, as Kalisto and Lince Dorado take on The Juice Brothers (Buddy Murphy and Tony Nese) in tag team action, whilst Mustafa Ali goes one-on-one with Hideo Itami.  Also, look for possible developments in the rivalry between Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak, as they’re set to fight for the Cruiserweight Championship in 12 days at SummerSlam.   Let’s get to it!

WWE 205 Live – 31st July 2018

1st August 2018 by John Sivewright

WWE 205 Live

31st July 2018

Tampa, Florida

Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson

It’s a good time to follow cruiserweights, grapple fans, as Drew Gulak is now the number one contender to Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali and Hideo Itami have unfinished business and Lio Rush and Akira Tozawa are set to clash again.  Strong characters, highly-proficient workers and well-told stories; 205 Live is a brand worth watching these days.  Tonight we’ll see Cedric Alexander tussle with The Brian Kendrick and Kalisto battles Tony Nese.  Let’s get to it!

24th July 2018

Evansville, Indiana

Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson

The weeks simply fly by during a hot summer, grapple fans, as here we are again with another episode of 205 Live.  Should be a buzz-worthy episode this time round, as we’ve got a fatal four-way to determine a new number one contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship (TJP vs Ali vs Itami vs Gulak) as well as Tony Nese having another tussle with Kalisto, this time with Buddy Murphy, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado barred from ringside.  Let’s get to it!

WWE 205 Live

10th July 2018

Manchester, New Hampshire

Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson

We’re one week removed from the greatest match in 205 Live history, grapple fans.  In last week’s broadcast, Mustafa Ali bested Buddy Murphy in an incredible no-disqualification match; a contest so intense, in fact, that one wonders why it wasn’t saved for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view.  This week sees Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander defend the strap against Hideo Itami.  Let’s get to it!

We open with highlights of the excellent main event from two weeks ago, where Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali’s tussle was interrupted by Hideo Itami.  It’ll hit the fan this week, grapple fans, as tonight all three combatants will tussle in a triple threat match.  Let’s get to it!

Last week saw one of the greatest matches in 205 Live history as Cedric Alexander bested Buddy Murphy in a Tuesday night classic.  Tonight, we’ve got Lince Dorado tangling with The Brian Kendrick and Mustafa Ali going one-on-one with Buddy Murphy.  Should be another good week of cruiserweight action.  Let’s get to it!
