WWE Crown Jewel Title Match Confirmed

A Crown Jewel Championship match has been set for the titular WWE pay-per-view taking place on October 11 in Perth, Australia.

Following Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, on the post-show event, Cody Rhodes was interrupted by Seth Rollins during his interview following his win over Drew McIntyre in the main event of the show. Rollins and Rhodes had a stare-down, indicating that a match between the two is on the cards soon, and later in the post-show, Triple H came out for his interview and confirmed that the Rollins vs. Rhodes match would be taking place at Crown Jewel.

Also, at Wrestlepalooza, Stephanie Vaquer captured the WWE Women’s World Championship by defeating Iyo Sky in a match for the title that Naomi vacated on the August 18 episode of Raw after announcing her pregnancy. This means that Vaquer will face the winner of the scheduled match on the September 27 episode of SmackDown for the Women’s Championship as Tiffany Stratton faces Nia Jax and Jade Cargill in a Triple Threat for her title, with the winner going on to face Vaquer for the Women’s Crown Jewel Title at the October 11 pay-per-view.

The first Crown Jewel Champions were crowned at the 2024 edition of the pay-per-view, which took place on November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The first men’s champion was Cody Rhodes, who defeated Gunther, meaning he has the opportunity to be the first back-to-back winner of the title.

The first women’s Crown Jewel Champion was Liv Morgan, who defeated Nia Jax. This also means that if Jax wins the WWE Women’s Title on SmackDown this Friday, she has the opportunity to challenge for the Crown Jewel Title for a second time.
