Rousey vs Carano 17-Second Slaughter Peaks at 17-Million Viewers
By Garth Holmberg on 19 May 2026
Earlier today, Netflix and MVP Promotions released a statement that MVP’s first MMA event, headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano, averaged 12.4 million viewers, and the Main Event topped out at just under 17 million viewers (or 1 million per second of the fight, for those who like weird useless nonsense).
While Ronda/Gina wasn’t more than a tomato can get crushed in the most obvious result in competitive fighting history, the card did feature a fun fight between Mike Perry and Nate Diaz, as well as some dominant under-card 1st-round victories. The biggest negative of the night was the amount of downtime, Ariel Helwani wearing too many hats, and lackluster production values.
