Roman Reigns Returns To WWE, Plus 3 New Matches Confirmed For SummerSlam On Raw

The Tribal Chief has returned to WWE, making a return to save CM Punk and Jimmy Uso in the final segment of Raw, and three new title bouts were set up for SummerSlam.

In the main event match of last night’s episode of Raw, CM Punk won a Gauntlet Match to become the number one contender for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Title.

However, following his victory, Punk and Uso were attacked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed until Reigns made his triumphant return to make the save. Reigns then helped Uso back to his feet and stared at Punk as Raw went off the air.

Reigns has not been seen on TV since the Raw after WrestleMania, when he was taken out by Breakker after he confronted Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. Reigns has not competed since WrestleMania 41 Night 1, but it seems likely WWE is gearing up for him to tag with Jimmy Uso to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam.

What Else Happened Last Night On WWE Raw?

Also on Raw last night, 3 new title matches for the upcoming SummerSlam show were made official, the first obviously being CM Punk winning the previously mentioned Gauntlet Match to become the challenger for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship.

Earlier in the show, the newly crowned Women’s World Champion Naomi (who won the title at Evolution, read the review of the pay-per-view here!) was confronted by Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley, who both argued their right to challenge for the title. As they argued, Raw GM Adam Pearce came out to make a Triple Threat for the title at SummerSlam official.

And finally, Lyra Valkyria and Bayley faced off in a 2/3 Falls Match for a shot at Becky Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Title, which Valkyria won. Following the match, Lynch came to the ring to have a stare down with Valkyria.

The card for SummerSlam now looks like this:

• Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title
• Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill for the Women’s Title
• Naomi (c) vs. Iyo Sky vs. Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat for the Women’s World Championship
• Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria for the Women’s Intercontinental Title
• Randy Orton and Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul
