Kofi Kingston Injury Update Following Match On WWE Raw
By Conor Renshaw on 30 September 2025
An update on the status of Kofi Kingston following a nasty spot on Raw that saw him being hit hard with a knee has been provided.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Kofi Kingston has not been placed on WWE’s internal injury list after being struck with a particularly nasty-looking knee during his match against LA Knight last night on Raw.
The spot in which Kingston got hit with the knee saw Knight fighting up from the canvas, who then took off to hit the ropes as Kingston followed him and attempted to slide under the running Knight, but as Knight attempted to jump over the sliding Kingston, one of his knees struck him in the head, and Kingston slid outside of the ring and was visibly dazed and looked unsteady on his feet.
However, Kingston seemed to recover quickly and was able to continue with the match and perform the finishing sequence, which ended with Night hitting his signature BFT for the win.
Why Was LA Knight Facing Kofi Kingston On Raw?
The match between LA Knight and Kofi Kingston was set up earlier in the night when Knight confronted Raw GM Adam Pearce, demanding a world title match as he was the last person who had pinned current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a match. As Knight was speaking, The New Day (Kingston and Xavier Woods) interrupted, asking for a World Tag Team Title shot.
This led to bickering between Knight and Kingston, with Kingston stating that he was the only person in the conversation with world title experience. Knight said that he would be the world champion soon, and Pearce decided to set up a match between the two for later on Raw.
What did you think of Kingston’s knock to the head? Do you think, despite the report, he might be out for a little while? Or do you think he will be back in action very soon?
