Jack Perry Has Plans For “Darker” Jurassic Express In AEW
By Craig Ballantyne on 30 September 2025
Jack Perry has opened up on his plans for Jurassic Express.
Jack Perry joined AEW in 2019 as Jungle Boy alongside Luchasaurus. Calling themselves Jurassic Express, the team went on to become one of the most popular acts in the company. The pair later allied themselves with Christian Cage and finally captured the Tag Team Championships in January 2022.
After losing the gold that June, Cage and Luchasaurus turned on Perry, leading to a feud that lasted several months and saw Perry defeat his former allies before going his own way. Over the following years, Perry turned heel himself and joined The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada in The Elite. As part of the group, Perry captured the TNT Championship and held it for 146 days before losing it to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear 2024.
After the loss, Perry disappeared from AEW TV for over ten months before finally returning at All Out. On the show, Perry saved Luchasaurus from an attack by the Bucks, making it clear he was no longer their ally. He then hugged Luchasaurus in the ring as their old theme song, Tarzan Boy, played.
“It’s More Interesting When It’s Not So Black And White” – Jack Perry
While Jurassic Express is back together, Jack Perry doesn’t want it to be the same as their first run. Speaking to Vice, he explained that he wants to continue to evolve his character and keep the darker vibe from his time as the Scapegoat.
“It was interesting with the Scapegoat thing because I would get a mixed reaction. At certain times, I almost felt like a babyface. My idea was, I’m not the bad guy, I’m really the ultimate good guy here.
“I think it’s more interesting when it’s not so black and white and I think even if it’s leaning more towards the babyface side, I think there’s definitely a darker vibe with both of us than there was before. It’s a story, it’s always evolving. We are evolving. The sort of world that we are in is evolving. I think the more we can be open to that the more interesting it’ll be and the better it is.”
Jurassic Express will wrestle together for the first time since 2022 on October 1st at Dynamite’s 6th anniversary. The pair will team up with Kenny Omega to take on The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander.
