Dominik Mysterio Doesn’t Feel Pressure Of Mysterio Name

Dominik Mysterio has claimed he doesn’t feel any pressure in being part of a famous wrestling family.
Dominik Mysterio is only five years into his career, but has already made a mark on WWE. Mysterio joined WWE while his father, Rey Mysterio, was in a feud with Seth Rollins. This led to Dominik’s first match at SummerSlam 2020, where he lost to Rollins in a Street Fight.
From there, the Mysterios became a successful father-son tag team, even capturing the SmackDown Tag Titles at WrestleMania Backlash in 2021. However, the team came to an end in September 2022 when Dominik turned on Rey and joined The Judgment Day.
After feuding with Rey for several months, Dominik stepped out of his father’s shadow, creating a heel character that became one of the most hated in the company. Over the past two years, he has captured gold in NXT, WWE, and, most recently, AAA. He is currently the reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE and the AAA Mega Champion.
During an interview on The Wide World of Sports, Dominik spoke about carrying the Mysterio name, saying he hadn’t felt much pressure in being part of a famous wrestling family. If there was any, he believes he used it as motivation.
“I don’t really feel the pressure, when it comes to being a multi-generation family in the industry and having the Mysterio name and everything he’s done, I never really took the pressure in a bad way. It almost motivated me and made me want to go out there and have fun.”

Reflecting on his journey in WWE, Dominik Mysterio admitted that, while he has had many memorable moments already, it can be difficult to find time to “sit down and smell the roses.”
“Now when people talk about the Mysterios, they talk about me as well which is really cool to see.
“It’s also very hard to be able to sit down and smell the roses while you’re constantly on the go – it’s non-stop what we do, it’s 365 days a year. So whenever I can, I try to enjoy those special moments – for example at SummerSlam, beating AJ Styles or winning the title at WrestleMania.
“We don’t get many of those moments, but we live for these types of moments. It’s cool to be five years into my career and already have so many moments.”
