AJ Styles Confirmed For TNA Slammiversary, Plus 8-Man Tag Match Added To The Card

It has been officially announced that AJ Styles is coming back to TNA! And a new 8-man tag match has been added to the card for Slammiversary on Sunday.

TNA made what executive Carlos Silva had been teasing all week official on last night’s episode of Impact by airing a vignette that showed clips of some Styles’ matches in TNA, and then someone blowing dust off Styles’ old ring jacket that was sitting in a dusty old TNA chest.

However, Styles himself was not shown, nor was it confirmed what role he will play at the pay-per-view on Sunday. Styles last wrestled on the June 16 episode of Raw, where he beat JD McDonagh, and he hasn’t wrestled in a TNA ring since 2013, where he lost to Magnus on an Impact taping that aired on January 9, 2014.

Besides AJ Styles, What Other Match Was Confirmed For Slammiversary On Impact?

Also on Impact last night, an 8-man tag match was confirmed for Slammiversary following an angle where DarkState attacked Matt Cardona and The System came out to make the save.

It was then announced that Matt Cardona will team with The System’s Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, and JDC to take on DarkState’s Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin.

  • Trick Williams (c) vs. Joe Hendry vs. Mike Santana in a Three-Way Match for the TNA World Title
  • Masha Slamovich (c) vs. Jacy Jayne (c) in a winner-takes-all match for Slamovich’s Knockouts Title and for Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship
  • Nic Nemeth and Ryan Nemeth (c) vs. Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy vs. Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz vs. AJ Francis and KC Navarro in a Four-Way Ladder Match for the TNA Tag Team Championship
  • Moose (c) vs. Leon Slater for the X-Division Title
  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Indi Hartwell
  • Mustafa Ali vs. Cedric Alexander
