John Cena: ‘I have no guilt nor shame’ about relationship with Vince McMahon
John Cena says he has “no guilt nor shame” about his friendship with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Speaking to The Guardian, Cena said it is possible to love someone despite them not being perfect and stood by his relationship with McMahon. Cena has publicly expressed his support for McMahon on several previous occasions following McMahon’s January 2024 resignation from WWE and TKO. Elsewhere, Cena discussed WWE/TKO’s ownership interest in the John Cena character, saying the company has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the intellectual property and has earned its share of ownership.
The Rock Responds To WWE Surprise Over His AEW Praise: ‘Humanity Matters Most’
The Rock has responded to reports that WWE officials were surprised by his praise for AEW while paying tribute to PAC. Dwayne Johnson, who sits on the TKO Board of Directors, said “humanity matters most” and that he does not view other promotions as competition when a wrestler dies. Dave Meltzer had reported that people within WWE were surprised by Johnson describing AEW as a “phenomenal wrestling company,” believing that was not a message WWE would necessarily want communicated. Johnson stood by his comments, saying his concern in situations like PAC’s death is for the wrestlers and those affected, not promotional rivalries.
Jay White is expected to miss up to two months after suffering an undisclosed injury. Tony Schiavone announced White’s absence during the October 3 episode of AEW Collision, with the injury reportedly occurring during the Bang Bang Gang’s match against The Dogs and Death Riders at the AEW All Out Tailgate Brawl. The setback comes just three months after White returned at Forbidden Door following a 15-month absence caused by hand and shoulder injuries. White was most recently seen on the September 30 Dynamite tribute episode for PAC, where he recorded a message remembering his late colleague.
