Evening Daily News Update: April 29, 2026

Good evening, doomers, and welcome to your Evening Daily News Update! The NBA playoffs have heated up, with Detroit (vs Orlando) and Houston (vs LAL) fighting for survival, while Toronto and Cleveland have split the first 4 games of their series. AEW Dynamite is tonight (preview below) and there’s our usual lineup of MLB action… and some NHL playoffs, but there’s so little commotion about it ’round here, it’s easy to forget.

Check out Niz’s recap of last night’s WWE NXT, where a ton of new faces were introduced as we look to restock the cupboard. Think of it like Spring Training invites; you have people obviously set in their spot, but then you audition a bunch of people to fill out the ranks. Jabroniville has a new Dream Matches and BRONCO NAGURSKI is featured. I don’t know if I’ll ever get a chance to type that again, so all caps seem justified.

AEW Dynamite Preview:
Tonight, fighting Champion Darby Allin defends the AEW Championship against Brody King, Kevin Knight defends the TNT Title against MJF, Divine Dominion defends the Women’s Tag Titles against Statlander and Shida, Okada defends the International Title against Ace Austin, and MORE. Jeez, I don’t think 2 hours will be enough. Might need an overrun.
