Evening Daily News Update: April 7, 2026

Good evening doomers, and welcome to the Evening Daily News Update! It’s the 40th Anniversary of WrestleMania 2, the one and only time WWE tried running one show from three venues. Personally, I think Mania 2 gets a little too much hate, though the Nassau portion of the card really gets screwed over, but when you see the last half of the show has the Battle Royal, the Tag Titles, Steamboat/Hercules, Tito/JYD vs. The Funks, and Hogan vs Bundy, that’s a solid card for 1986 WWF. Anyway, tonight we have WWE NXT and the fallout from Stand and Deliver, and our usual assortment of MLB and NBA action.

WrestleMania Saturday and Sunday Cards Revealed
The lineup for each night was announced earlier today on ESPN, with the first hour of each night airing live on ESPN (Night 2) and ESPN2 (Night 1). For the full details, click the link or ask someone in the comments section.

WWE NXT Preview:
As we move on from NXT Stand and Deliver, we kick off the Men’s Speed Championship Tournament, Lola Vice has her Championship Celebration (yet another booking crutch segment I’m so tired of), as well as a triple threat featuring Jasper Troy, Keanu Carver, and Josh Briggs, and lastly Sol Ruca vs. Izzi Dame. All this and MORE tonight, starting at 8pm ET on the CW.
