Evening Daily News Update
By Garth Holmberg on 22 October 2025
Good evening, doomers! Last night, the NBA on NBC returned and gave us a double OT duel between OKC and Houston, while the Lakers and Warriors got chippy early and often. Tonight, THE NEW YORK KNICKS tip off against Cleveland, and we’re already down KAT, Josh Hart, and Mitch “I’d Rather Be Anywhere But NY” Robinson. I guess Thibs overworked them in preseason… oh, what’s that? Thibs ISN’T at fault? Well, damn, I found my running gag for 2025-26. Dynamite is tonight, with Hurt Syndicate looking to avoid jobbing in their quest for the Trios Titles. Mercedes Mone celebrates her 19th title win, I think something she found in a box of Cracker Jacks.
Niz puts in the work to catch us up on WWE NXT, a.k.a. The BoD’s majority-vote best weekly programming from a US-based promotion. Jabroniville has some DREAM MATCHES, with some shine on the recently departed Robert “Sir Mo” Horne.
Mustafa Ali Keeping Options Open
Ali’s TNA contract expires at the end of 2025, and should be a top priority for either WWE or AEW to try and bring in.
Becky Lynch Possibly Feuding With WWE Referee
I’m not saying Wrestler vs Referee angles don’t work, but nothing will top Larry Zbyszko vs Scott LeDoux.
YouTube Spotlight: The Story of The Giant (1995)
While Hulkamania was running wild through WCW in 1995, The Dungeon of Doom was looking to destroy Hulk Hogan with a monster known simply as The Giant. Watch The Giant’s first months in WCW, from his first appearance at Slamboree to his WCW Title win at Halloween Havoc. (Personal Opinion: The Giant was the biggest draw for my attention across both WWF and WCW, at least until the nWo formed)
As always, enjoy yourselves, keep it clean and come out dooming! – GH #NewYorkForever
