Evening Daily News Update
By Garth Holmberg on 8 August 2025
From the pages of the BOD Magazine, here’s UPDATE…
Good Late-ish Afternoon, Doomers… or early Afternoon, if you’re on the West Coast. Or good night, to our friends who might be in the UK. Whatever time zone you represent, it’s Friday, and that means we can look forward to some WWE Smackdown, coming to us from Montreal. We’ve got appearances from Cody Rhodes and John Cena, as well as the Motor City Machine Guns versus JC Mateo (formerly Jeff Cobb) and Talla Tonga (formerly Hicadoola)… well, that’s quite an empty sheet of information.
If you missed last night’s Impact, Saherrin’s recap is worth a read. Did you know Ring of Honor has weekly TV? Well, technically they don’t, but it sounds better than ROH: Streaming Service Paywall, and hey, I recapped that! I know it’s tucked away down there and nothing matters until a big show takes place, but support Blake Christian and Atlantis Jr. or something. You can also check out Mike Reviews Pro Wrestling NOAH Departurefrom 2000, Tomas wraps up the Booking of the Nexus, and What the World Was Watching showcases the April 16th, 1994 episode of Superstars.
Tony Khan’s Fairway to Hell
The beloved, fearless leader of All Elite Wrestling has sat on a trademark since last Summer, hoping to put together a Golf Tournament for charity that will attract new fans. Maybe he can start his own league and put it behind a paywall.
Roman Reigns Names Favorite Opponent
It’s Brock Lesnar. Wouldn’t have been my guess, except for the fact they ran it back like 13 times.
