Evening Daily News Update
By Garth Holmberg on 5 August 2025
From the pages of the BOD Magazine, here’s UPDATE…
Good Evening, Doomers! It’s Tuesday Night, and that means (checks calendar) NXT! There’s a pretty full lineup announced ahead of time, so we’ll try not to miss anything: Sol Ruca defends the Women’s North American Title against Tatum Paxley, Chase U challenges Hank and Tank for the NXT Tag Team Titles, Blake Monroe takes on Kelani Jordan, Yoshiki Inamura faces Channing “Stacks “Lorenzo”, Lexis King battles Myles Borne, and Nia Jax goes one-on-one with Thea Hail.
Monday Night Raw was certainly a show last night, and if you missed out or want to compare notes, Kat’s review is available here and well worth checking out. I don’t want to say I was disappointed, but it felt very safe coming out of a show that garnered a lot of attention, though the biggest example of that will be addressed on Smackdown.
Tomas has a double-feature for us today, with Part 5 of Booking the Nexus and the Definitive Ranking of Brock vs. Cena Matches. Kat also joins the ranks of putting in the extra work, with Episode 5 of WWE Unreal, Rock Star Gary has more from World Class with the 03.19.1988 episode, and YOURS TRULY finally got off his duff and finished another Fan-Cam Files, taking place a few weeks before WrestleMania XIV from Montreal (Spoilers: Jacques Rougeau is on the card and puts in more effort than the rest of his 97-98 run combined).
Dustin Rhodes Needs Double-Knee Replacement
The Former AEW TNT Champion and current ROH Tag Team and Trios Tag Team Champion says he’s scheduled for a procedure on August 21st. After Seth Rollins’ troll job faking an injury, who knows. Maybe he’s trying to get out of losing the ROH Titles. Or TK will make an Interim set for both. Your guess is as good as mine.
Eddie Kingston Training for Return
Thinking of the situation, I just get the image of Little Mac in the Game Over screen sitting despondently with his face battered and bruised, contemplating retirement. At this stage of his career, I don’t know how much is left on the bump card, but it’ll be nice to see him back, if only to say he was able to make a full recovery.
