Morning Daily News Update

By Conor Renshaw on 25 July 2025

Happy Friday, everyone!

The weekend is here, and it’s time for more Morning Daily News. This weekend feels especially weird for me, due to the fact that we lost legends of both the music and wrestling industries this week with the passing of “The Prince of Darkness” Ozzy Osbourne on Tuesday, and the death of Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea yesterday.

I know that there are massively mixed opinions on Hogan in the wrestling community, but despite what you may think about Terry Bollea the man, nobody can deny the impact the character Hulk Hogan had on professional wrestling, as he became the face of the WWF and wrestling as a whole during the 1980s and propelled wrestling into the mainstream with his larger than life persona and iconic matches with the likes of Andre the Giant, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and The Ultimate Warrior.

Like it or not, Hogan played a huge role in making the industry that we love (and sometimes love to hate) what it is today, and has influenced generations of stars to pursue careers in wrestling.

I extend my condolences to the friends and family of Terry Gene Bollea. Rest in Peace.

Wrestling World Reacts To Hulk Hogan’s Death

The wider wrestling world has reacted to the news that Hulk Hogan passed away yesterday at the age of 71. Legends such as “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, Triple H, Sting, Steve Austin, and many, many more have posted tributes to the late WWE Hall of Famer.

Former NXT Star Jakara Jackson Signs With TNA

Former WWE NXT star Jakara Jackson, now wrestling under the ring name Mara Sade, has officially signed a contract with TNA after wrestling on a couple of episodes of Impact and at Rebellion in April. The contract signing was posted to social media following her trios match where she teamed with Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay to defeat Ash by Elegance, Heather by Elegance, and M by Elegance.

Two Title Matches Booked For Next TNA Impact

In other TNA news, 2 title matches have been set for next week’s episode of Impact, with a rematch from Slammiversary as newly crowned Knockouts Champion Jacy Jayne will defend her title against Masha Slamovich. Jayne defeated Slamovich at Slammiversary in a winner-takes-all match for the Knockouts and NXT Titles. Also set for next week, new X-Division Champion Leon Slater will defend his title in a three-way match against Cedric Alexander and Jason Hotch.

Shawn Michaels Explains Why He Doesn’t Regret His Infamous Last Match

Shawn Michaels was a guest on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under Podcast and discussed with The Deadman about why he doesn’t regret their infamous match at Crown Jewel 2018, where he teamed with Triple H to take on Taker and Kane in a tag team match that many regard as one of the worst matches in the company’s history, which is very impressive considering it contains 4 of some of the greatest names in wrestling. Michaels said that he doesn’t regret the match because he’s had countless other great matches, and if that is the one stinker out of hundreds of great matches, that doesn’t bother him.
