Evening Daily News Update
By Garth Holmberg on 2 July 2025
Good evening, Doomers. It’s Wednesday, and we’ve got Episode 300 of AEW Dynamite tonight, with a bunch of Superman cross-promotion on top of it. We’ve got the dream match between Kota Ibushi and Kazuchika Okada! Mercedes Mone defends her TBS Championship against Mina Shirakawa! MJF, Bro’dy King, AR Fox and Anthony Bowens battle for the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet! In one Heroes vs Villains match-up, it will be The Bucks and Takeshita against Bandido, Roddy Strong and Kyle O’Reilly, and in our second Heroes vs Villains contest, Will Bruv and Swerve Strickland take on The BEAST Mortos and Dralistico. If AEW isn’t your bag, WWE Evolve is tonight, and I’m sure Sonic will have that covered for us in no time.
The BOD has undergone some cosmetic changes, and it definitely allows things to breath a bit more. If you missed out, Niz brings us this week’s episode of NXT, Jabroniville has more DREAM MATCHES(featuring the likes of Gary Albright, Reese, and the Portuguese Man O’War), and What the World is Watching focuses on the March 6th, 1994 episode of Challenge (yes, the show is still around).
Ruby Soho Ready to Return?
Ruby Soho, currently under contract with AEW, has posted on her Instagram account that she is working towards a return to the ring. Ruby last competed in the ring in February 2024 before news came out that she and husband Angelo Parker were expecting their first child. We all hope to hear Taz sing along to her entrance music again in the near future.
Miz Set to Return to WWE TV
The WWE Superstar and future 1st-ballot Hall of Famer (even though WWE doesn’t use ballot voting) has been out of action to film for the upcoming revival of American Gladiators. I guess that speculation of his contract expiring and being allowed to walk was untrue.
YouTube Spotlight: New Generation Live Event Matches
Buckle in for a compilation of never-before-seen Live Event matches featuring your favorite New Generation Superstars, including a huge tag team from Madison Square Garden, pitting Shawn Michaels and Diesel against Bret “Hit Man” Hart and The Undertaker. Plus, action featuring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Mankind, Razor Ramon and more! (Spoilers: Some of it has been seen before, but still a great collection)
The New York Knicks have made their choice in who will take over as the head coach, and the reactions are mixed. I guess I’ll let it play out and see where it goes. Enjoy yourselves, keep it clean, and come out dooming. – GH
