It’s time for another dose of Morning Daily News! Today also marks 23 years since the first-ever TNA show, which aired as a pay-per-view from Huntsville, Alabama and saw Ken Shamrock become the first NWA-TNA World Champion by winning a 20-man Gauntlet for the Gold match.
Liv Morgan Reportedly Undergoing Surgery
After dislocating her shoulder during her June 16 match on Raw against Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan is reportedly set to undergo surgery for the injury and is likely to be out of action for 6 months. This means that reported plans for Morgan to face the returning Nikki Bella at the upcoming Evolution PLE on July 13 are out the window.
Mercedes Mone Wins CMLL Women’s Title At AEW Grand Slam Mexico
Mercedes Mone has captured yet another championship belt as she captured the CMLL Women’s Title on last night’s Dynamite Grand Slam in Mexico, defeating Zeuxis, who held the title for 278 days.
El Grande Americano Successfully Defends WWE Speed Title
El Grande Americano has walked away from his first WWE Speed Title defence as champion. Americano defended the title against Berto in under 4 minutes, but the manner in which he retained the title was questionable. Americano used his trademark loaded mask by inserting a metal plate into his mask and then headbutting Berto to knock out the challenger to secure the pinfall victory.
Hulk Hogan’s Real American Freestyle to Host Inaugural Event in Cleveland, OH
After rumours swirled yesterday of Hulk Hogan being close to death following an adverse reaction from a recent surgery that turned out not to be true, it was also announced that Hogan’s Real American Freestyle Wrestling will be hosting its inaugural event on August 30 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Tickets for the event went on sale yesterday.
