Impact Review May 29, 2025

Last time…on NXT. Trick Williams defeats Joe Hendry for the TNA Impact Title as the crowd goes wild. We go directly to Hannifan and Rewholdt who are subdued and serious. They talk about what happened and Rewholdt says anything can happen, like engaging in some Impactful discourse. Shall we?

We are once again in Brampton, Ontario (or the greater Toronto area as defined by Hannifan.)

Four way tag match, Rascalz vs. First Class vs, Aztec Warriors vs. The System

Rascalz come out first and Rewholdt said despite some setbacks they are still riding high (jokes…so many jokes..) after beating the Northern Armory. First Class is next and show no ill effects of the discord they had after Navarro’s match with Mike Santana. Francis also shows he is completely healed after his miraculous recovery from turf toe on Saturday. Next out is the Azzzzzz…wait, we go to earlier as the System beat up Octagon Jr. However, Laredo (not just a kid, now just Laredo) decides to go solo for his match.. The System (in this case Myers and Edwards) are last with Alicia in tow, indicating to everyone they are losers.

Laredo and Miguel start, and we get a Laredo and Miguel star. Francis tags himself in but eats a superkick. Miguel hits a right hand with a Dusty Rhodes boogie woogie to boot.

Myers tags in and Edwards jumps in the ring but Edawards eats a kick and a dop kick sends them out of the ring. Laredo goes to the top to dive but Alicia prevents him from jumping by grabbing his foot. The ref sees it and she is sent to the back (and serenaded by the “Kiss Him Goodbye” chorus by the Bramptonites, Barmptonians, however they refer to themselves.) Rascalz get Francis out of the ring and then throw Navarro out to the floor but Francis does the catch spot. However, the Rascalz hit somersault planchas to the first Class as we go to break.

and the plethora of blew chew ads start (I feel attacked.)

Back from break, Francis hits a running knee to the Laredo in the corner as Navarro is tagged. Navarro hits the double kick over the ropes and then his snap mare into the double stomp spot. Navarro into the corner and Francis tags in himself. The two start to bicker but cooler heads prevail as we get the value store finger poke of doom spot. Everyone jumps into to break the pin attempt.

Wentz tags and hits Edwards with a code breaker for two and a running knee. He hits a rolling snap mare into a kick and a shooting star press for two. Francis breaks up the pin with a backsplash for a two count of his own. Laredo tags in and goes to the top rope, Francis catches him but escapes a chockeslam and hits a spinning DDT for two. Schmozz-a-palooza ensues, whilst Miguel hits a Plancha on the system but lands on his feet. Navarro in but eats a high knee and a body press by Wentz. Laredo goes back to the top and a twisting sky press to the floor takes out everyone sans Francis. Laredo celebrates with a Guerrero shimmy. Francis catches Laredo and lands a chokeslam finally but Miguel tagged back in with no one noticing. Miguel hits the meteora on Francis and Miguel gets the victory.

Ergo, the Rascalz will face the Nemeths, who happen to be watching from the back. Nick say the Rascalz are good but they are not us. Nick’s brother says he and his big brother will be triumphant. They walk off screen and into break.

Back from break and AJ and KC are bickering, but not for long. Because, Mike Santana attacks Francis (whilst pushing Navarro out of the way. Hmmm..)

Now we get a look at Harley Hudson and Myla Grace. The two do a sitdown introduction to the uneducated and talks about their histories together. Hudson won the UK TNA Gut check and said they don’t make them like her anymore, no one talks like her or looks like her and that is her secret weapon.

Grace started training in 2018 and went to Japan. She had to leave everything behind including her fiancée and her dog She talks about all the travels she had to know and wrestling after finding out there was a death in the family before walking into gorilla and to her match. She said the Knockout division is the best women’s division in wrestling (Ummmmm….)

And we they get to TNAaaaaaa.. hold up. The Personal Concierge interrupts looking for Santino Marella to get Ash By Elegance a match tonight…nice. I am sure that will be the last of that. Absolutely.

Raj Singh vs. Mustafa Ali

Singh gets good reception since he is a Bramptoners, Bramptonian (you know what, he is from Brampton. There.) Order four is next with extra security in tow. Great Hands and Tasha Steelz flank Mustafa Ali and all his scowly glory. Rewholdt and Hannifan talk about Ali’s action during Under Siege where he kicked Indi Hartwell (somewhat forgivable by Rewholdt) and then the post-match shove of Steelz by Ali (unforgivable. ) Rewholdt says everything is fine in Order Four and if Rewholdt said it, it’s has to be true.

Ali hits a dropkick (Singh looks like he wanted to try something.) Ali hits a rolling neckbreaker and a series of forearms get two. Singh tries to suplex Ali but reverses it into a whip into the ropes but Singh hist a clothesline of his own. Singh lands a series of punches in the corner. A charge into the corner is successful but Ali boots him on a second attempt. Singh comes back with a knee to the back of the head. Skyler tries to interfere and distracts Singh, giving Steelz enough time to push Ali out of a way of a charge. Ali lands a 450 splash for the win.

Post-match, the great hands put their ummm…great feet to Singh. Steelz starts to argue with Ali about the beat down but Ali grabs Steelz by the hair and starts to yell at her. The Hands stop the beat down but Ali yells at them to keep going. The Favor lands and all four (even Steelz) stand victorious as Ali stands on Singh’s chest. Ali turns his head and glares at Steelz as they leave.

Ariana Grace and Santino Marella are in the locker room. Grace laments Saturday’s loss and that she let everyone down. Santino gives her a pep talk and hypes her up that she did great against Tessa Blanchard. He feels bad he couldn’t be out there to help his daughter. But together, they are going to beat those sons of a guns. Grace said she spoke to TNA directors and she got a special referee for the match – Jimmy Korderas. Korderas and Santino share a laugh but Korderas said he will call the match down the middle, which brings smiles to team Marella. Santino leaves to get ready for the match and walks away and into break.

Bioflex Injury report. Tessa passed concussion protocol but medical clearance is iffy…hmmmm….Octagon was injured today in the Systemic beatdown and is day-to-day (but then again, aren’t we all. Vin Scully RIP.)

Ash….by Elegance vs. Lei Ying Lee

Back from break and we get the Personal Concierge live in Brampton where there are no ladies just ugly Canadians. The only lady is here but PC has to prepare for the By Elegance Brand Release but nonetheless here is the gorgeous, the beautiful Ash…..by Elegance.

Ash sashays down the ramp and taunts the fans. Lee is out next through a fiery Cryon. Hannifan and Rewholdt spend part of the entrance talking about Masha Slamovich’s challenge to Lee but Robert Stone put the kibosh on it until Lee defeats her opponent tonight. Hannifan points out the hypocrisy of Crawford getting a shot versus Slamovich by doing nothing.

Ash starts the bout by mocking Lee with a series of sumo poses. Lee lands a roundhouse kick and attempts two more successive ones but Ash wisely bails out of the ring. Ash tries to run in the ring but gets caught by Lee, who hits a series of cradles for two. Ash gets the momentum by kneeing Lee in the gut. However, Lee lands to kicks to the head and a running knee to head. Lee hits a shotgun dropkick to Ash, who vainly tries to all time out.

Ash sucker punches Lee into the turnbuckle. Ash keeps the momentum by suplexing Lee into the turnbuckles. Lee sells a leg injury. Ash puts her own leg on the ropes to choke Lee. Ash hits two hip checks for two. Ash grabs and arm and leglock and continues to taunt the fans. However, Lee responds with three chops and a kick to break up the hold and Ash misses a leg drop. She misses a charge to the ropes as the two exchange punches that Lee wins. Lee hits a jumping knee to the head and hits the 10 punches in the corner. An exploder suplex gets two Ash hits a chop block and a meteeora for two. She slugs away at Lee but she is ummmm…Lei-ing up? Lee-ing Up? Lee hits her extra gear, yelling about fire, Ash tries to mock the yell, but is hit with a clothesline and a leg trap suplex. An airplane spin becomes a reverse angle F5 for Lee and the win.

Slamovich enters the ring with mic in tow. She will see Lee at Against All Odds and a handshake ensues into break and after the break, TRICK WILLIAMS

After a Mando Deodorant ad (again, what are saying about wresting fans?) We get a review of the Santana/Heights match from NXT (heck of a match, btw.) And Williams segment on Tuesday. He talks about the WWE legends who held the belt but now, the title is the TrickNA title. Santana comes out and defends the honor of TNA and we get a title match Tuesday on NXT.

And now, our champion, sort of. Williams said he wishes he could be there and apologizes to Brampton but he has standards, like first class ticket and five-star hotel for him and his entourage. The only thing TNA could offer was coach and there are no-five star hotels in Brampton (a search on the internet vouches for Williams, there is the Tosam Luxury Lodge, which is four-stars.) While he feels bad, he doesn’t feel bad about beating Hendry who needs to “back up or get jacked up.” He said he will show up when and where he wants. If any fan misses “average Joe,” he told them and Joe that he was going to take the title and the TNA brand, even if it makes them sick. “Let’s talk about it,” Williams said as he leaves (which, he actually just did)

Mance Warner (with Steph DeLander) vs Bryce Hansen. Hansen is local talent and gets a good pop which doesn’t last long as Warner charges him. Warner chops and headbutts Hansen down. Warner puts the boots to him as Hannifan and Rewholdt talk about the Williams Segment, with Hannifan calling the situation “bull(expletive.”) He doubles down on it as Warner chops away at Hansen. Rewholdt takes time away from the match to say no one disagrees with Hannifan’s stance bd hopes that Santana wins.

Meanwhile, Warner continues to pound away at Hansen with a series of running boot drops. Warner celebrates with some public affection with DeLander. Warner hits two short-arm clotheslines and a running clothesline. Knee pad up, Knee Pad Down to Hansen and then Warner Hits the Pay Window (implant DDT) for the victory.

After the bout, DeLander gets the mic and informs us we are in their era and will be watching the Maclin vs. Cardona match tonight. And then, more PDA ensues as we go to break. But first,

Rosemary is in a red-lit living room of a hotel (no news if it is the Tosar or not.) she is gloating that Xia Brookside tasted the dark side after a push from her. Now, there is one more step for Brookside to take before she is fully absorbed by the dark side; one more dance – a Monster’s Ball match. (yeah…..)

Santino Marella and Ariana Grace vs. Robert Stone and Tessssssss…hang on a moment

Marella and Grace come out first to huge cheers (arguably one of the biggest pops of the night.) They power walk their way down to the ring and keep pumping up each other.

Now, the authoritarian no-goodniks arrive in what looks like personalized faux fur bath robes. However, Stone grabs the mic and tells us Blachard is not cleared to wrestle due to what that devil woman (points at Grace) did on Saturday night. However, Victoria Crawford will take her place (it’s too true to be good.)

That’s the bad news The good news is he spoke to the higherups and got three rules set for the math. One , the match can go no longer than 10 minutes (sounds like a rib but okay.) Two, since Korderas can’t be trusted, he has brought in a special enforcer/special referee, Alicia Edwards. Lastly, the Cobra is forbidden (Duke and Flint breathe a sigh of relief.)

Despite the fix apparently being in, Rewholdt extolls the virtue of Stone’s decisions. Santino and Stone start the match. Stone scampers around the ring to avoid Marella and goes to the ropes to get a five count. We even get a Robbie V reference drop. Stone tags Crawford as Grace comes into the ring and Grace automatically grabs a headlock. Crawford head scissors out and flies back to the corner to immediately tag Stone.

Stone enters the ring but Grace flips out of a hold but Blanchard distracts her by grabbing her foot. Korderas sees it and it earns Blanchard a trip back to the lockers. When action resumes, Grace grabs a headlock, an arm drag and a cradle for two. Crawford enters the ring and takes some decent looking body shots. Grace gets a suplex but Stone distracts Grace enough for Crawford to slam her from the top for two. Crawford follows it with some elbow drops and a rear chinlock.

Hannifan tells us that the rest of the family Marella is here. Grace hits a jawbreaker to break up the hold and then attempts to crawl to her corner. However, Stone knocked Marella from the ring. Marella is in pursuit with a non-cobra ummm. Cobra before the ref stops him. Crawford, meanwhile, grabs a leg submission. She hits a Northern Lights Suplex for two and grabs a front facelock. Grace fights out of the hold and hits a back suplex. She gets the hope crawl spot finally and makes the hot tag to Marella. Marella slugs away and hits the splits to land an arm drag. He nails the flying headbutt while Grace goes to the top and lands a body press for two.

However, Stone pulled Korderas out of the ring and, when questioned, blamed Marella. Whilst the two argued, Stone pushed Korderas into Marella knocking out Korderas.. Stone throws Marella into the ring steps. Meanwhile in the ring, Crawford hits a superkick and an axe kick, which gives Stone a chance to pin Grace whilst Alicia counts the three. Both Stone and Crawford stand on the turnbuckles to celebrate.

We cut to Eric Young and the Northern Armory in the back and talks about his tenure in TNA until Moose interrupts. Moose calls all Canadians stupid and JDC calls Canada America’s stupid top hat. Moose reminds everyone that he is the X-Division champion and to get a match, Young needs to talk to Santino. The System walks away as the Northern Armory walk the other way. Young starts to walk with them but stops, glowers at the camera for a while, then smiles at the camera before walking away to break.

And we’re back with the Personal Concierge who regrets to tell us that due to the match earlier, Ash will not be here to join us. However, we will continue with this beautiful moment as we look to this evolution of class and prestige and beauty. He is proud to bring us Heather….by Elegance. Now, the moment we have been waiting. Everyone stand up and show respect, get your cell phones ready for who was Maggie Lee now the new, rejuvenated M…..by Elegance. She walks and we get the full celebration from the Concierge and a toast to Elegance.

But wait, out come Hudson and Grace. She said they had the backstage interview (technically segment, but hair splitting are we.) The Personal Concierge interrupted their moment. Now, reciprocity is in order. However, Hudson said they both understand respect must be earned. In order to do that, they have to make an Impact. They then take two glasses of champagne (after toasting each other) and douse Maggie with them. Rewholdt called them classless knaves as By Elegance scream and try to clean off M as we get some order restored via break (and more ads for, you know…)

Main Event for the International Title Corey Maclin vs. Matt Cardona

“Always Ready” comes out and the announcers run through all of Cardona’s accolades. Cardona is going full American with red, white and blue gear and jacket. Next up is Maclin but first, Tommy Dreamer (sure, why not) Gives Maclin a pep talk about being TNA and frighting for us and for them (gestures to the gorilla position and the fans.)

Maclin enters with a WWE style walk from Gorilla position to the ramp. The announcers talk about how much he cares about the company and the weight he is carrying because of it.

Maclin starts with a headlock that Cardona escapes via a back elbow. Maclin chops away at Cardona but Cardona reverses and Irish whip to the turnbuckle but Maclin responds with a forearm smash, a clothesline and a back breaker get two. Maclin whips Cardona to the ropes but Cardona reverses it. However, Maclin stops the momentum on the ropes and throws Cardona out of the ring. Maclin dives between the ropes and lands on Cardona. Cardona is then slammed into the apron and Maclin hits an elbow drop in the ring.

Cardona recovers and sends Maclin to the ropes. Cardona sets up a piledriver but Maclin reverses it to a back body drop. We go to break as both wrestlers recuperate.

(hey, surprise one more blewchew ad.)

Back from break, Both fighters slug away until they both collapse on top of the TNA logo, as Hannifan notes. Cardona hits a knee but Maclin gets the upper hand with two clotheslines. Cardona ducks a third but is met with a Thesz Press that gets two. Maclin hits a hard back elbow and an Olympic slam for two. Maclin throws Cardona to the corner and lands two shoulderblocks and a hard clothesline for two. Cardona eventually arises and hits a straight jacket slam for two

Cardona heads to the top rope but Maclin catches him and slugs away. He climbs to the top and Maclin hits a superplex off the top rope for two-and-a-fraction. Maclin now climbs to the top rope but Cardona crotches him on the turnbuckles. Maclin slumped to the canvas and Cardona hits the Broski Boot twice (complete with a “wooo woo woo” for good measure.) However, a third boot is caught by Maclin, who gets to this feet and slams Cardona leg first. A running and knee and second rope diving headbutt gets two. Cardona goes to the floor as Maclin gave chase. Cardona gets back in the ring and hits the pursuing Maclin with a low blow and an Unprettier (which didn’t look great) for two. Getting frustrated, Cardona grabs the International Title off the table but the referee confiscates it. This gives Maclin the chance to recover and kick Cardona. A charging clothesline nearly wipes out the referee and in the hesitation Cardona hits the Radio Silence for a two-and-a-fraction count. Cardona goes to the second turnbuckle but is caught on the way down by Maclin for a powerbomb. Maclin puts Cardona into the Tree of Woe and Maclin hits a spear to the ribs. After another kick, the Tag Em and Bag ‘Em gets the win.

Hannifan calls this a pivotal night in TNA history and Maclin celebrates by standing in the middle of the ring and spells out “TNA” on the mat.

Last shot is Santana leaving the building but saying he handled business with AJ but Tuesday on NXT, the TNA belts comes home where it belongs….here.
