The Tribe of Ratings

Hey Scott,
I know tribalism has long been a part of wrestling fandom, but I don't remember, even during the Monday night wars in the attitude era that fans really cared that much about ratings. Is my memory failing me or is this whole fan tribalism about TV show ratings a new thing?
Your memory is failing. The whole reason why it’s a thing today is because people got so used to measuring dicks with Monday night ratings and couldn’t let it go after the Attitude era.
