Does Bret deserve more praise for 1992/3?

Scott,
First time email, long time reader. Saw a thread on twitter talking about the WWF roster being decimated from Jan 1992 to Feb 93, with the following talent:
Hogan
Warrior
Macho Man
Ric Flair
Legion of Doom
Roddy Piper
Bulldog
Jake Roberts
Sid Justice
Natural Disasters
Texas Tornado
Big Boss Man
Sgt Slaughter
With such a huge loss of talent should Bret be given more credit for keeping the train from totally derailing or doesn't matter since the 80's gravy train was finally over and the company was going downward no matter what?
Of course he deserves more praise, he was awesome and carried the company on his back more than once.
