Big Brother

Are you watching Big Brother this year? Tucker is singlehandedly making it one of the best seasons in a while, and the addition of a 3rd nominee adds some much-needed unpredictability every week. Thoughts?


Finally someone emails me about Big Brother this year! Of course I have thoughts, and I know that the blog loves whenever I talk about the show but they're just too scared to engage me about it. Don't worry, blog, I'm happy to discuss Big Brother or Big Brother Canada whenever you want.

Tucker annoyed me early on, but he's playing the best game by far of anyone, and the third nominee deal makes it incredibly difficult to get him out because he can always win his way out of a nomination. I was thinking Quinn and his 25 alliances were the early favorite but I think Tucker is gonna take him out sooner or later and just surround himself with people who he considers playing the game the “right” way.

The AI “twist” from the beginning was unspeakably stupid and I'm glad it's settling into the background now that they've got real personalities in Quinn, Boston Jim Carrey and Angela dominating the TV time. I think Makensy is playing a great game but sadly doesn't know how to spell her own name and that should count against her. Joseph is a dark horse and he's gonna slide all the way into jury and beyond if they don't get rid of him sooner.

Final 2 prediction: Tucker and Quinn. I think they're gonna realize that they secretly have man-love for each other in a couple of weeks and form a bromance that's gonna steamroll everyone else to the finals. I'd say they'll take Angela with them as a Victoria-style shield but Angela has actually won something so instead it'll likely be T'Kor and her 17 different accents getting carried.

Anyway, this season is awesome so far and I'm glad that the third nom has largely toned down the “voting with the house” bullshit that ruined so many other seasons, because they don't know in advance who to vote for. They should go further and follow BB Canada's lead by removing the HOH from the Veto comps as well, because you almost never get voting blocks in the Canadian show as a result, since it's almost guaranteed that someone is using the veto every week.
