Scott,
Before Cody left AEW, people always bring up the fact that they booked him into a corner by having him not be able to compete for the AEW Title.
My question is this: This is pro wrestling. Logic is often thrown out the window. Couldn't creative just come up with some reason why Cody was now able to wrestle for the title? Why was this stipulation such a big deal when similar stipulations are often changed or ignored?
Good question. Also, in retrospect, I strongly believe Cody should have been the first AEW Champion. I know they had their reasons with Jericho but really it was Cody's big coming out party and he should have been the champion.
