The Young Bucks as the Worst AEW Tag Champs Ever

So, The Young Bucks' whole gimmick currently is that they know they're terrible champions who just about never defend the titles. Uh, why actually put the belts on them then? They're supposed to be heels for ruining the tag division, but it actually just makes me mad at AEW as a fan. I'm supposed to care to see them lose the titles while simultaneously watching them kill off those very same titles by virtue of being horrible champions who are practically non-existent and don't care at all. I don't get this.
To me, it would be like putting a title on a terrible worker whose gimmick is that he then sarcastically keeps talking about the classic matches he's been having while he has a total dud one after another before dead crowds. Sure, I guess it technically makes him a heel, but is it really worth it?
I don't get it either. Why not just put the titles on FTR in the first place and let them defend it every week on Collision? The move still makes no sense to me.
