Prediction you’re most proud of?
By Scott Keith on 10 August 2024
Hi Scott,
Back in late 2002/early 2003, I remember Eric Szulczewski (aka Eric S on 411wrestling/Inside Pulse) writing a column that included his prediction that Cena would go onto become one of, if not the, main guys in WWE for the next decade. His reasoning (from memory, I can't find the column online now) was along the lines of Cena doesn't do anything wrong in the ring, and that when (not if) he finds the right character to connect with the audience, the sky is the limit for him. Fair to say he probably got that one spot on.
Eric's other prediction I remember was in 2001. Eric, as a fan of animation, was apparently super familiar with Turner exec Jamie Kellner, and Kellner apparently wrought havoc as head of Kids' WB back in the day, cancelling Animaniacs, Batman: TAS and various other well-regarded series. So when Kellner got the gig as head of Turner Broadcasting in 2001, Eric was the first guy to call Kellner cancelling WCW. And sure enough…
So to cut a super long question short, what is the prediction you've made (and published) with regard to wrestling that you're most proud of being right about?
Cheers,
I don’t know if proud is the right word but I called Russo self destructing and getting fired three months later when he came into WCW in 1999.
