Darby Overload

I am trying to understand the blackmail Darby has over TK. While I am not a fan, I understand how he appeals to the audience AEW caters too. And he has def had some big moments for AEW that will allows be part of their history. But in what world does Darby need to be the number contender to both the TNT title and the AEW World title at the same time? It's bad enough he attempted murder just for a TNT title shot, which is like the 5th most important AEW singles at this point and a total bozo move, but you had Hangman right there to fight swerve at Grandslam. Even if they find somehow to transfer the title shot to Hangman it still makes no sense.

Darby is a terrible promo, just ok in ring, and hasn't proven to be some mega draw that deserves all the big spots he has constantly gotten. Shoot, he caught a me too accusation from the same women two years in a row and he barely missed any time on TV. There are so many other options that if given the same opportunities and title runs that could be just as over or more than Darby. You can't find anything for Ricky Starks to do, but Darby deserves to have 2 title shots at the same time?


I wouldn't say he's a “terrible promo” and he's definitely way better than “just OK in ring” but he's definitely overpushed by a lot at the moment. Not as much as MJF right now, but a lot.
