That doesn’t work for me, brother.

Scott,
We all know Hogan's penchant for political moves and protecting his spot, but two questions :
- Is there a specific origin story for “That doesn't work for me, brother?”
- Is 1985-1996 Hogan the most powerful (non-booker) in wrestling history?
Tim.
Hogan was kind of a booker for WCW though. Also I’d vote for Bruno.
As for the catchphrase, it’s not like Vince was asking him to do jobs in the 80s, so I feel like the actual utterance must not have come until the WCW title reign in 94. I wanna say the Vader deal is the first time I can remember it as a joke going around but that might have just been people imagining that’s how he talked. I’ve certainly never heard anyone specifically saying “I heard him say those words and here’s the context”.
