To paraphrase the Wutang Clan, “Who Killed WCW” is for the children

By Scott Keith on 3 June 2024

So can we all agree that the upcoming Vice mini-series “Who Killed WCW” is for the casuals who didn't read any of the Death of WCW books, the WWE documentary on the subject, and who weren't around during the dying days of the company?

In that sense, it makes the project make sense in terms of being for people who are new to the subject, with the novelty for people who know the answers to the question being that you have all of the usual suspects basically being interviewed in one four hour mini-series to pretty much plead their case for why they didn't kill WCW.

(Which reminds me, will Jamie Kellner be interviewed for this mini? Especially most everyone agrees that he was the killer?)

That being said, the mini needs someone with a strong will to challenge the bullshit that we know certain parties will spew to defend themselves. Or else we might as well play the documentary as an artsy fartsy affair ala Irreversible where we start with the cancellation and then work our way backwards to 1993 (when Bischoff takes over) in reverse chronological order for the lulz of seeing the fall of WCW are talked about in reverse chronological order.

I don’t really understand who this show is aimed at but we don’t get Vice in Canada anyway.
