AEW currently has the following things happening…
– 70 different authority figures whose level of authority seemingly changes depending on the time of day
– A women’s division with a champion who is technically a heel but cheered and another champion who should be heel but is booked as a face
– Segments like “TV Time with Chris Jericho” that are actively trolling the fans
– A World Champion who is treated like a mid-carder
– TV cards that are often seemingly booked on a napkin the afternoon of the show
Did Tony Khan hire Vince McMahon to run things and not tell anybody?
A bit harsh but the unfortunate reality is that WWE has been ridiculously successful with the formula for a long time now, and TV execs want stuff that’s proven to work already. Given their investment in the show it’s unlikely that WBD is just like “Do whatever feels right to you, Tony!”
